Crimson red, really dark colour. Very expressive on the nose, blackberries, blueberries and chocolate. Full-bodied, very powerful, alcohol (15%) is present. Very well integrated tannins, medium length, concentrated. It is better to let it breath for more than one hour.

Big ripe blackberry flavour with chocolate behind it and some eucalyptus. The drawcard here though is the texture as it's super plush in the mouth. I think there would have to be full MLF here as well as a lot of lees work to give the wine this big, velvety mouthfeel but the final product is impressive.
I drank this by itself and I think you need to have it with meat or cheese to provide you with more palate variety as this wine itself doesn't have the complexity to stay interesting for a full bottle.
Interesting to consider that over the years this wine has won four Jimmys...was it a better wine back then? It's definitely a victime of changing fashions but even so this just seems good but not great, a nice wine but it doesn't justifies its RRP pricetag.

Feeling a little sorry for those who drank this beauty too early or who don't appreciate mature Bdx.

Auction bargain!

Colour: mature Bdx with dark red depth.
Nez: deep, rich Bdx earth with dark fruits and that beloved sumi ink with a bit of black olive brine.
Mun: Now we're talking! An opulent, fully fledged Bdx in its early drinking window. Good tannins, fantastic acidity and mouth feeling. Perfectly fits the classic warm vintage Pauillac description (minus the black currants) with cedar wood, tobacconist, horse saddle and fruit that is darker more than red.

A brilliant wine that delivered fantastic pleasures on a late Friday evening, after a rather long week...

Not getting a higher score:
Complexity level is not higher than this. The finish isn't longer than it is. The wine is towards brutish rather than composed and refined.

BTW:
The classic Bdx descriptions are flawed and died around the 80'ies.

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of fresh citrus fruits of lemons/limes, grapefruit & stone fruits with floral & stony/earthy overtones, minerals & just a slight hint of grassiness in the background. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of lemons/limes, grapefruit & stone fruits with stony, herbs, minerals & a touch of lemongrass. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but should develop further with an additional aging.

This is really odd as it's a sparkler made from 100 % godello from the Bierzo region in Spain. It shows nice character and is really a pleasant surprise!

Frankly quite young and thus not a proper representation but that been said it did feel like it was made for early drinking. Ripe cherry , soft spice , rich and polished and probably sees some wood here but old. Thinking about it probably better this young while is fresh and full of energy. 87-88

What we loved about it was the fact that it had presence and character and this is a wine that leaves a lasting memory and it not easy to be down at its level. Granted not the most complex and a touch bitter on the finish. But still ( and we are sure this is great value for money) it was proper and pure and we would happily drink this any day. 89 but a very good wine.

Sweet - caramel and butterscotch
Nutty - pecan
Spicy - mild cinnamon
Earthy - tobacco and anise
Smoky - less
Woody - some cedar, but not over the top
Fruit - brighter, apple, peach, atypical, orange
Color - bright copper
Palate - I hate to use smooth. But yeah. Well integrated and not over the top. Not too astringent.
Finish - a little short but decent
Value - for $60, amazingly good. Compared to a Russell’s pick by a normal group, falls a little short
Overall - meh. Good everyday sipper. Between something standard and a good RR pick

Core vs. Rim Development: The color maintains consistency from core to rim, indicative of its youth and freshness.

2. Nose

Aroma/Bouquet:
Fruit: Citrus (lemon, lime), green apple, pear
Flower: White flowers, such as elderflower, maybe a hint of blossom
Earth: Minimal earthiness

Wood: No wood – Sancerre is typically aged in stainless steel or neutral vessels to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression

3. Palate

Tannin: N/A – not applicable for white wines
Flavor Character:
Fruit: Vibrant citrus and green fruits continue from the nose, contributing freshness

Conclusion
Quality with Respect to Price: Roger & Christophe Moreux Sancerre Les Bouffants is typically regarded as a high-quality wine, offering complexity and the distinctive minerality of Sancerre at a competitive price point.

Maturity with Respect to Ageing: Best enjoyed while young and fresh to make the most of its vibrant fruit and floral characteristics, though good vintages can develop nicely over a few years.

Food and Wine Pairing: Excellent with seafood, goat cheese, or as an aperitif. Its acidity and minerality make it a versatile pairing with dishes emphasizing fresh herbs and light sauces.

Earlier this month we had a wonderful hike at the Nussberg and tried several wines at the small vineyards (Heurige). Ried Weisleiten was just beautiful with excellent wines and an incredible view of Vienna and the Danube River. Brought a couple of bottles home with us.

From the producer:
"The main varieties for this field blend are Weißburgunder, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger, Welschriesling as well as Traminer.
You’ll find hints of herbal spiciness, dark minerality, a touch of yellow apple, white stone fruit and fresh orange zest. This wine has a tightknit structure with a nicely integrated acidity and hints of fruit sweetness with a touch of lemon in the end. Nice aging potential."

Excellent organic Gemischter Satz! I agree with the producers TN and additionally liked the creamy finish and balance (6.8 g/l TA vs 3.6 g/l RS).
