Opened to slow ox for 90+ minutes. Wine was really soft with reduced tannins. Black berry fruit on the palate with a hint of olive left on the nose.

Kinda disappointed. Was hoping this bottle would keep some of its heft as it aged.

Wow what an amazing wine. The fruit just opens up with currants, berries and plums rolling on top of each other. Finishes for ever. Long time to go on this one.

Restaurant purchase. Color is dark garnet. Nose has balck cherry rhubarb and cedar. Swishing shows dense fruit and mostly acid structure w some stem peeking out on finish. This is super intense on palate but totally behaved and polished. Easy

Probably over aged. Fruit had mainly disappeared and there was some funky thiols.

Pure ink. Dip a pen in it and write a love letter. Brooding black and red fruits. Cassis, blackberry and leather. Shows just a hint of lead pencil. Tannins are moderate and integrating nicely. This had more time but it's perfect now. Drink now-2030.

This needs time... at the 2nd hour of decant and sadly the end of the glass, things developed rather nicely. The red fruits are there, but a wall of tannins prevails at this stage, maybe the 3rd hour would make things right? I have another and will give it 3 hours next time, but from what I can tell, this is going to be what it is, and I'm not waiting another decade for changes or buying more. That being said, it's an enjoyable wine, a bit dry a bit underdeveloped at this stage, but good nonetheless. It may be caught in a place where the wine needs time, but the sediment may pile up to get you there! 2010 remains one of the best vintages, and when you find those singing now, ohh boy what a song! This is stuck in the middle for now.

PnP. Drinking really well. Great structure, ripe tannins, and deep red fruit. There is a slight bitterness to the mid-palate which is lovely and follows with savory notes on a medium plus finish. This is Burlotto’s regular bottling of Barbera d’Alba. They produce an “Aves” which is a step up from the normale. I would imagine the Aves in this vintage is spectacular. I’m going to seek it out. No rush at all to drink this. It will continue to drink well over the next 5 or so years. Its lift and acidity will keep the fruit bright and focused.

Wild flowers, pineapple, butter scotch. A beautiful and balanced drink. Could drink all night. Had with a seafood tower.

Great example of the solid Syrahs that BC produces. Dark, tannic and chocolatety. Good QPR.

Not especially remarkable, but a solid, well-balanced effort at a reasonable price, again sourced at Costco. It is just not possible to obtain a really good pinot noir at a low price but this one does better than most. Juicy, dark cherry fruit, mild tannins, not much length.

I suspect that this wine could be controversial. Heck, it could be controversial for me! Some nights I might dump it, but tonight it hit the spot. I had been out for a hike, and needed something alive. This was more than that. It was vibrating at a high frequency almost beyond perception. It had bright fruit, but beyond that it had living energy. I tried to get a more detailed handle on it, but every time I thought I had it in my grasp, like a cat, it jumped away.

I second MOTZ's observations but add that it has glorious color, virtually an orange wine now. And like most orange wines, it has lovely heft and length. (And I've got 3 bottles left, yay!)

I was expecting this to be over the hill, but it was surprisingly good. Fruit not intense, but certainly present. Zesty acid. Oak present, but not in your face. Tannins soft. Long, pleasant finish. I have one more bottle, and will drink it soon.

Popped and poured, then we enjoyed the wine over the next few hours. Initially cellar-temp, gradually warmed up to 58 F or so, and the wine improved with temp and air. Still a medium-depth purple-to-ruby color, maybe just starting to turn towards garnet. Lovely blueberry fruit, earthy mocha latte, raspberry, vanilla and anise on the nose. Silky tannins, oak is well-integrated but still present. No noticeable heat, fading acidity. Simple sweet fruit bomb on the palate, slight vanilla and dried oak notes, a touch of salinity, short drying finish. Just doesn't measure up to what the nose hinted at, but food friendly enough.

This is a fantastic Prosecco. Delicate white flowers, slightly sweet apples. Extra dry is the perfect style here. Great value sparkling wine.

A much more oxidated smell and taste to this bottle, with green apples really took over. Gorgeous gold color though. Not as surly as the first time I tried it; not as expressive as the last time I did.
Score: 92. Relative to expectations: +

(1st of 6, perfect fills). Golly this is good! Bordering on rich, full, complex, flat out delicious, long, ... Lots of lemon oil and phenolics. Another example of why you should seek to buy the Bourgogne from top-tier producers. Captivating. Superb for a Bourgogne.

Good Chard - nothing more. Bright lemony tanginess on the palate. Scores points for steering clear of butter and oak overkill. Just lacks some concentration for a 90+ score.

Dark purple in color, closed nose, fruit forward with hints of blackberries. Easy drinking, light with light to medium tannins. Best to drink alone or with light fare such as cheese and crackers, not suitable pair with hearty fare

Can we consumed with or without food, noting I felt it was better without food. Deep yellow colour. No signs of fadng. On the nose dried lemon peel and the smell of baked and slightly caramelised apples. On the palate...wow. Rich, generous full bodied wine with a just lovely oily feel as it glides over the palate. Only a hint of acidity behind the tip of the tongue. Intense flavours as per the aromaric note, with a slight bitterness on the back palate. This one is joyously about the texture and shape when being consumed without food. A slam dunk of a wine.

Decanted off sediment (unfiltered and unfined), carafed about 40 minutes because if some reduction evident on opening. Smelled red and black fruit, some pepper, smoke, vanilla; tasted the fruit and some caramel-type flavor with a little pepper prickle. Fairly big bodied and leans acidic rather than tannic, good intensity, and a medium fruity finish. Nearly a prototype of red wine.

I remember tasting this vineyard when I visited Kistler many years ago, was not my favourite wine from Kistler then but has grown on me since , the vineyard is pretty sandy in terms of soil composition. Aromas of Citrus tart, gooseberry, nectarine, savoury herbs, stones and hay. The palate is medium weight, with a more delicate and sandy dust, earthy touch, white blossom, lemon balm oil along with nectarine, chalkiness a persistent mid-palate finishing slightly savoury yet with succulence.

No reason to keep this one in the cellar. It is ready to drink now. The nose is good. Has good body and firm tannins but they do not overwhelm. The cherry fruit still comes in good with a pleasant upturned finish.

Négociant, but this champagne apparently comes from vineyards Thiénot purchased in the late 70s-early 80-s from Krug. 70%Chard, 30% PN, 6g/L dosage. Disgorged 3/2023, so 20 years on lees. 100% malo.
Definite signs of age are present, but in an elegant, not tired way. Regal, full bodied, long finish & carries dosage well.

100% PM, in a cool frosted bottle. Darker gold color, very vivid mousse, medium vivid bead. The flavor of this kind of reminded me of fruit punch. It’s not at all sweet, but what I mean by fruit punch is that all the fruit blends together in an indistinct way for me. Strong acidity in mid palate, and if I’m being critical, the finish was a bit bitter, resembling citrus pith. I think this needs time to sit and integrate - the components for a nice champagne seem to be here. I have three more bottles, so plenty of time to see how it evolves

70% furmint 30% Hárslevelü. Made in champagne methode w/ 3 years on lees. I believe this is zero or nearly-zero dosage, but there was no info on back of the bottle and I forgot to check whether there was an etching on the bottle. If you have tasted dry furmint, you would recognize this. Very distinct from champagne or other sparklings. Lots of variety of herbs, perhaps bordering on medicinal, a bit of hay. A curiosity for sure, and I remember thinking “what would pair with this?” Maybe sausages and sauerkraut?

100% PN, Roland Piollot is the husband of Dominique Moreau of Marie Courtin. I haven’t tried the full range of Piollot, but generally they have come across as delicate and lighter. I wouldn’t have pegged this as PN blind; it came across as more like a chard-heavy blend or bdb. If you’re looking for typical or full style PN, pass on this.

On the nose: white spring flowers, lemon, sweet grass. Very creamy on the palate, nutty, buttery, then transitions to dill on the finish. Paired perfectly with roasted Brussels sprouts and vegetarian stuffed mushrooms. Drinking beautifully now, could definitely cellar another 5 years. We have another we will keep till then.
