Subtle fruity nose. Medium bodied, dry, crisp, showing yellow stone fruit and a hint of mineral with firm acidity. Great pairing with the risotto at Café Savoy.

Very easy drinking, and paired well with a variety of foods (including lasagna). This has really grown on me.

Un peu déçu de ce vin considérant les notes de la communauté. On perçoit la qualité, mais le fruit est totalement absent. Semblait déjà sur une pente descendante. Peut-être une mauvaise bouteille…

At once slightly rustic yet there is some charm slipped in there too. Very good intro to those who only know domestic Syrah.

Just not a Bedrock I have ever really warmed too. It's perfectly decent, but well below some past vintages of the CA Syrah let alone the SVD Syrah's.

This definitely needs a couple of hours to open up and remove some of the heavy "funk" aromas. However, once it had sufficient air, it was pretty good and enjoyable. I found it better with food - tomato based items - but even on it's own it was tasty.

Good Acid and a fair amount of tannin, very dark fruit flavors and deep dark purple in the glass.
This really was a very nice bottle of wine and one that I would buy again.

Costco cheap seats for 11$. Never seen it before. Quick online search shows a “90” Best Buy rating from wine enthusiast for the 2020 and for 11$ I’ll agree. Good acidity, more zippy citrus than round melon. Clean and crisp with a shortish finish but better than any 11$ French Chardonnay has a right to be. Not buttery/oaky/malo etc. Wife liked it and she is ABC most all the time. I’ll be having several more of these.

Very strong nose that jumps out of the glass. Definitely a bit extracted. Colour was almost bricking suggesting age/oxidation. Very dense and fruit forward on the nose and palate. Lots of blackcurrant, blackberries, cassis, sage, maybe eucalyptus? Dense, chewy tannins and some acidity to keep it from falling totally flat. Just a bit too reductive/sweet, but still interesting and worked okay with steak. 85, but maybe this bottle had some oxidation and could have been better.

Last bottle from a group purchased in 2015. A medium lemon in color, starting to show its maturity that way. Aromatics with moderate intensity including grass, hay, honey, lemon, melon, roasted almonds. The flavors have evolved such that a honeyed character dominates the palate - quince, lemon also coming through clearly. Fully mature and probably peaked back around 2019 a few bottles ago, still very nice today.

Red berries, citrus fruits and herbs. Full-bodied, with good tension, considerably more elegant than the 2022 Tormaresca Calafuria. Long and intense. Bordering on an extra point. Drink now - 2028.

Opened bottle at noon and kept in the cellar at 55 degrees for remainder of the day, moved to room temp table at 5 PM. First taste an hour after that. The next 5 hours were heaven and it kept getting better. Had a small amount with steak dinner, but this was best on its own, after dinner. This stands similar to the Mouton Rothschild 2015, but the Latour has more subtleties and a more complex, longer finish with unique minerality. Blue and black berries, currants, cedar, spices, with a delicate underlayment of leather, pencil, chocolate, sea shells, pepper, smoke, and the barest hint of flint way at the end. Full-bodied, almost creamy, this is truly opulent wine. Refined is an understatement. The finish keeps expanding for over a minute. Probably best to age until 2025 or 2026, but this baby is so much fun right now. Will easily keep beyond 2065.

My last bottle and it was very nice. But I loved this wine at 4 and 6 years thinking it would only get better. For some people it did, but for me, well, it has taken a long time to learn this lesson but I should have drunk them earlier when I was beguiled.

Dark red color with some purple highlights. Limited transparency. Decanted and consumed over 3 hours. Initially disjoint with tannic barrel bite in front of a highly polished black cherry, iron, smoke, and roasted meat palate. With some food and 15 minutes of air, this subsides and this drinks really well as a young wine with characteristics of Gevrey-Chambertin and 2017 both on display. After about an hour and after the meal ended this started to shut down and show less dimension. Not a crime to drink now but expect it to further close down before emerging in early maturity around 2030. Drink now with decant and food or hold.

Popped and poured. Drinking beautifully right now. Floral nose with herbal notes. The wine is medium bodied, nicely delineated with good acidity. It shows raspberry fruits, tea, herbs and spice on the nose. Still quite youthful and developing complexity this should continue to get better with time

Still tight after a 2-hour decant, but over time this wine just continued to get better. Bold aromas of black and blue fruit with violets and licorice lingering in the background. Full-bodied and bursting with a tasty minerality complimented by black cherry and plum. The finish went from 5 seconds to 15 seconds over the course of 2 hours.

Youn in color and nose. Intense nose of warm gravel, thick dark red fruits and garique.

The palate on the other hand was very muted on opening. Cards were kept close to the chest and not giving much apart from tannine structure. After an hour or so the wine opened up and showed lightness, finesse and and a hint for a complex flavor profile still hidden in the back. A very good wine at a reasonable price with a 2pts upwards potential.

Decant for at least an hour before drinking. I'll keep my other two for a few more years hidden away.

Lunch wine at Castel Tres Girard, and then tasted again 24 hours later. This is certainly a ripe and high-toned vintage for Cecile. Lots to like about the purity of fruit and intense spice notes, though this is also full throttle and the alcohol was poking out on day two. Not a sure thing to age gracefully.

Tried at a blind tasting. The look and feel geve impression of a 30+ year Nebbiolo. Not dead or off, just tired but still with some good left in it. Perhaps, marking it as flawed is hars but considering the real age, less than 10 years it should still be in it's youth. All characteristics were still there but muted. I hope it's just variation between bottles.

Wow! The QPR on this wine is exceptional! A $20 California syrah that drinks like a high quality Northern Rhone. Dark fruit, bacon fat, pepper and tiny touch of funk. Everything in balance, but nowhere near the end of the road. I purchased 3 bottle over a decade ago, at the recommendation of a wine shop sales person. This was my last bottle that was forgotten in the cellar. Wow.

Late night bottle, and then revisited over three days. All power and pure delicious fruit and whole cluster spice on night one. Over the course of the next couple of days, more layers emerge though the ripeness of fruit also becomes more pronounced particularly on day three. Lots of pleasure in these 2019s now and a vintage that's unlikely to shed its ripe character, yet should age nicely.

Tasted late evening (and after a dinner with 2020 Leflaive Pucelles, BBM and BM) and then again over three days. This was every bit as good as the Leflaive wines and perhaps as concentrated as the two Grand Crus. On day two and three, the wine continued to improve with more integration and layers emerging while still retaining purity and freshness of fruit. A killer vintage.

Certainly the best of the trio, but also the most brooding at the current moment. Not to say this wasn't fun and pleasurable, particularly with air. Gobs of concentrated fat fruit that is loaded with flavor and floats across electric acidity. Yet it needs time to develop it's eventual layers of depth of flavor. Upside from here.

The tweener of three with Grand Cru concentration and a degree of precision already that makes this the more approachable Grand Cru at the moment. Enjoyable if you're willing to splurge, but upside in 3-5+ years as this develops more nuance and complexity.
