Pale, 20 years not even in the realms of guesswork, astonishing. The nose is simply tremendous, smells less sweet than it is, hints of petrol, light peach and apple, grape and lime. This is sensational, the fruit is ripe and rich, but the acidity carries this all the way, it might live forever. Still so youthful really, alive and kicking, medium sweet, oily but not heavy or unctuous. A ballet dancer of a wine, light and airy, but with a super-serious centre of balance. It was simply wonderful with the slightly smoky and sweet scallops.

Tastes quite alcoholic but the alcohol is only 14.5%. Tastes a little disjointed, as if the alcohol is not integrated. Beyond the alcohol there is a great concentration of blackcurrant fruit. There is also pleasant notable vanilla wood with some cedar notes. Long hot alcoholic finish, fairly straightforward. Presents as still young but I doubt this will ever resolve into a good wine.

Quite pale. Less struck match evident than is normally the case with PYCM. White fruit, light citrus, nice core of chalky minerality, but oddly I preferred this wine immediately after pouring. It seemed to lose vibrancy in the glass. It has a round and sedate easy-going nature, but I felt it lacked the zing and exciting element that ought to have been there. Still a lovely wine, but just missing some zip for me.

Lovely silky texture and showing the elegance of the 2011 vintage. Hints of ripe plums and vosne spice. Satisfying and quite good for the vintage.

Really pale, paler than 11 years might suggest. Quite a silky mouthfeel. A bit smoky, a tinge of reduction that I wasn't expecting but the wine is good with it. Wool notes were expected, but strangely this has more than a feel of Burgundy about it. It's strongly acidic that plays well with the sweet and smooth white fruit. Really high quality Chenin here, such elegance and poise.

Excellent QPR. Nice mix of chardonnay and viognier - lots of stone fruit as you'd expect, but with enough acidity to keep it fresh.

Tast Vinicia Lleida. Vino muy joven. Potencial de ser una de las grandes cariñenas del Priorat. Proyecto a seguir.

Demasiada madera. Falto de tensión. No es mi estilo.

1st of 12, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level - dark, slightly mat but translucent ruby, notably leggy, little rim development; cherry and plum, some chocolate and spice, really nicely layered for right bank; fullish, long, vv persistent and concentrated with volume of top vintage, even expands in mouth, silky, grippy, quite complex and with admirable relaxed expression of fruit, upside here, 15+ years. F+ (18)......broached this case after previous night's VCC for a compare and contrast, the May is further along its evolution and pro tem a much nicer drink but in 15 years I suspect VCC will have edge when it starts unfurling.

Light yellow color. A bouquet of pear and citrus notes, stones. Expressive and precise palate, green fruits, citrus notes, mineral finish. It’s a young wine, surprisingly fresh and with a lot more to come. 12.5% alc. It is a special wine, as is the retail price. Much more appropriately priced at resto in Meursault. Lunch with Per.

Side by side with the Comtes 2006 and these two wines could not be more stylistically different. This is a little darker, and the mousse is less fine but more piquant. It feels more evolved than the Comtes, leaner, but equally more "Champagne", with more of a brioche and bread nature to it. It's tart, chiselled, and extremely refreshing and probably aligns more to my view of a typical Champagne than the Comtes actually. Very nice indeed, hard to choose between the two, like chalk and cheese but both truly excellent.

Pale purple, notes of red fruits, but predominantly defined by flavours of earthiness, wood compost and bitter herbs.

To be honest, my initial impression on opening this bottle was of disappointment. The aromas and flavours were so jarring and wild I did not know what to make of them. But this bottle came highly recommended from someone with good taste so I reserved judgement and waited.

Pinot noir is nicknamed ‘the heartbreak grape’ as it needs patience to cultivate. I would also add that it also needs a patient and curious-minded drinker to discover its allure. This bottle needed nearly four hours to breathe in a decanter before the flavours fell into place. It was a nice rewarding wait. The wine is bold, intense and marked by a rustic character. Medium bodied at 13% ABV. Still very drinkable even on the third day (vacuum vin stopper).

This was a nice discovery for me but not everyone would appreciate its taste profile and the winemaker's intent. This style is probably more suitable for wine - particularly pinot noir - enthusiasts than for casual wine drinkers. It serves as reminder for me of the varying style and versatility of pinot noir. That it can be fruit-driven, light and fragrant, as well as bold and complex.

I also feel bottle is on the young side though — it can probably keep for another 3 years.

Fabulous nose on opening, all about subtle biscuity champagne notes. With time though it becomes Burgundian, unmistakably Chardonnay, but more geared to a still white wine with a hint of smoky reduction. The mousse is very fine, and the palate has a sweet creaminess to it. It's just so fine and so remarkably easy to drink, and extraordinary to think it's approaching 20 years of age. In great shape, and will likely stay at this plateau for many years. Lovely stuff, a genuine pleasure.

12.5% ABV. c.900 bottles made. Blend of Kerner, Semillon, Gewurztraminer at a 1:1:1 ratio.

Served by the glass into Kimura Cava glass (“No” day): Medium lemon golden to the eyes.

High tone citrus with high definition like grapefruits and with the malty undertone that is consistent with the 2022 cuvees from this producer.

High minerality and acidity, mellow yet bright on palate.

Amazing with food as well. Wow. 94-95 points easy.

This definitely needs air and maybe even a decant if you dont have time. Upon opening it was behaving like tight Chablis and with air it first became a little more fatty with white orchard fruit bouquet (like a Meursault) and then at the end of the dinner it really showed its true self with layered complexity that I have come to associate with Puligny Monrachet. In brief, you are better off ageing this 4-5 more years and I wish I had more of this stuff. QPR is debatable but a fantastic wine nonetheless.

Lovely bouquet. Smooth and long palate. So different from last night's 2013 Wynns Coonawarra black label cabernet but both excellent wines. I'm guessing this is 'in the zone'. Surprisingly light colour. But no bricking.

Served by the glass into Kimura Cava glass (“No” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.

Dried florals, tea leaves, purplish and dark red cherries.

Very mellow and silky tannins. Most may blind this as Pinot Noir.

Clearly punches above the 2020 tasted before. 94 points.

2016 Les Carmes Haut-Brion. Second glass coravined for my wife and I over burgers at home (first glasses were 30 days ago). Deep red fruit and crunchy soil. Very high toned green stem and whole cluster nose, nothing like a Bordeaux, again, like the winemaker’s Rhone roots. Next glass in another 30 days…94/100

While this is good to drink now, showing a lot of old-school Meursault fattiness, oak, ripe fruits, and a slight touch of stoniness, I think it would benefit from some more aging.
