Arguably still even a bit young but drinking wonderfully. TOMLEE Feb note is instructive.

A 10-year-old from St. Estephe, the second one this year, and it had a hint of sediment. There was something meaty about the aromas that complemented the cassis, red currant, perfume, jam, and iron.

The flavours were light, almost watery, with notes of blueberry, perfume, cassis, tomato, cedar, and salt. Medium (+) acidity with medium (-) tannins. For me, the highlight was the nose. Lady of the House says 90pts, 2014 Ladouys was better.

Such precise blackberry fruit on this one. Light spice. Amazing texture for the grape and very good handling of the barbera acidity. It’s fresh and very friendly. Total bargain - I think it may be in the top 3 of barbera for me just for the purity and elegance.

Still very much on the young side, barely developed.

Expressive, pretty nose. Violet florals (kind of akin to classic Sangiovese), cassis, plums. With air the fruit darkens considerably, which is a shame, because the wine smelled its best in the first 30 minutes after opening.
Medium acidity and a decent structure. After it's initial 30 minute transformation, the wine remained unchanging for 4 days of standing around in the kitchen. Will benefit of further aging.

This bottle was really singing. Creamy, lemony, nice acidity, great mouthfeel, long finish, beautiful nose. It was all put together really well. Felt like it’s in the zone and will hang here for a bit.

Drank in a chain Brasserie restaurant, this was a great price with minimal mark up, and great wine.

Classic Washington red. Dark, primary and very smooth, with an evident oak signature. Large scaled but approachable now. This is a lot of vino for $30

Dark red fruit and some floral notes on the nose. Medium bodied on the palate with some blue fruit appearing after time in the glass. Smooth tannins. I’d have given it an 89 but my wife insisted that it was a solid 90 and maybe 90.5. We settled at 90!

A successful Israeli Riesling, a little less good than the previous vintage from Odem Mountain Winery, but still enjoyable and tasty.

Deep lemon colour. Light and developing nose with ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, ripe peach, brioche, butter, charred wood, roasted walnuts, chalk and wet stone. Medium taste of ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, ripe peach, brioche, butter, charred wood, roasted walnuts, chalk and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Bourgogne Blanc in a Meursault style. Needed an hour of air to integrate. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with cheeses, fish or shellfish.

Checks the fundamental Chablis boxes. Very fresh with mild citrus notes and a bit of minerality. Quite pleasant and very good QPR.

2000 Château Talbot St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
This is fully mature and ready to drink. The fruit has mellowed substantially and it’s not in need of much air, if any, before consuming although it did settle down a bit with 30 minutes of air in the bottle. This is classically proportioned St J on the darker fruit spectrum. The tannins are still noticeable but not intrusive. I suspect this has a nice plateau of a few years as it has not changed much since my last tasting and it still had verve over the three hours I consumed it, but it did not evolve during that time. Drink and Enjoy!

PnP. Great as always, really perfumed nose of violets, olive tapenade, herbs, touch of game, similar notes on palate with blackberries, and fresh acidity. Whether you like it or not, this wine does not leave you indifferent.

Well had to try this wine again , this time i tried it in several glasses
and the Grassl Cru glass faired the best. The wine also needs a lot of air , as i opened the wine 5:30 PM and at 7:36 PM it starts to show.
I find notes from black olives , pepper , coolness of some sort. I think i probably will have to buy more and then let the wine breathe to se what it can do.

Bubbles are very fine, the nose is subdued. Nice acidity, orchard fruits and mandarin orange with tinged herbal notes. Light mousse, toast - oaky ending with a hint of spice. Not a bad champagne at all, a bit on the sweeter side for a Brut as it shows a bit of sweetness reminiscent of marzipan on the palate and on the lingering ending.

Some off-putting woody notes on first night. Better on second night, with soft dark fruit and good acidity/concentration.

PnP, shows a fair bit of oak, however sharp acidity and minerality balance it out, though i think this needs another few years to integrate the oak, but it shows potential (91-93)

The most expensive regional wine I have ever purchased (68€). However, it was worth every euro spent. In fact, that price is minuscule, since it is de facto a second wine to Château Grillet which is priced around 400€, which itself seems pennies compared to similar monopolies like La Tâche, La Romanée or Clos de Tart.
The wine was exceptionally good with a terrific aroma, incredible depth of flavor, and eternal aftertaste. I am not a big fan of Viognier, but this wine left me speechless! I only can imagine what the first wine is able to offer.

Monthly Tasting Group: Burgundy (COV, Edina, MN): Medium red color. Splash double decanted and 1 hours slow-O. Small taste. This was really nice. Well perfumed, dried forest floor, strawberry, red berries, soft and elegant. Would've loved more of this.

Consistent with the January 2nd note. This was a little dark and stormy in the glass, not muddled or stewed but definitely already secondary. Great spices still. I would say compared to a ‘13 Roumier Chambolle village the next night (obviously totally different vintage and style) that this wine has less runway remaining.

Best before 31.10.2026; 11,2% alcohol. Full bodied, quite robust and sweetish, delivering coffee notes with some caramel sweetness. Surprisingly balanced. A solid imperial stout.

Monthly Tasting Group: Burgundy (COV, Edina, MN): Small pour. Burned barrels, oak, a little too warm, rich and full bodied. 90ish, but not the best presentation for it.

Noizè Legends (Noizé): Initially more subtle on the nose than the Rayas, (not that’s saying much) but then ramps up quickly to give a pretty and intense nose with orange peel, pepper, red fruit.
Similar on the palate, good intensity, ample but with quite tangy fruit, again feels like noticeable alcohol but sorts itself out a bit for a nice finish

Noizè Legends (Noizé): Volatile nose but gives way to back tea, a scrunch of pepper, toast, and a touch of very refined raspberry.
Fresh and lifted in the palate though alcohol is noticeable (14%) but does give way to a long finish. Something quite ineffable about this for me and I seemed less wowed than others but despite that I can sense good quality. A conundrum

Fine, elegant floral nose. Did well decanting over a few hours. Structured and polished. Fairly powerful and big palate. Brief note, last minute grab. Totally different from a ‘12 Meo Vosne Chaumes the next night. The Roumier Chambolle was comparatively far more energetic and bright. Perfumed and lively. Fun to try.

Young on the palate with graphite to the fore but also some sapid dark fruit. Very persistent which speaks to the quality. Quite classic now but suspect will show even more greatness in time.

This screems Nigl loud and clear with ripe yellow fruit and petrol and vibrating minerality. On the palate it's deep and full bodied, oily but at the same time almost tingly. Maybe not that complex but beautifully balanced and very long. An excellent vintage of this classic now ready to drink. 17.5/20
