Sensual succulent dark cherry nose and dark purple viscous in the glass… the taste is bright red fruit upfront with a sappy mid palette and well integrated and slightly under-ripe tannins rolling throughout to a shortish finish. A well made wine that should be in best balance ~2027. Saving my other bottles for a little more age.

Wax and honeysuckle; minerals and musk. I don’t get much on the nose, but the length and retronasal depth are outstanding; the texture is luxurious. Based on what’s in the cellar and the cellar book notes, I am afraid I have terribly underacquired the RFV whites.

I agree with Jeff Leve and Panoskaviatos, although I think the wine would have not been ready for their praise in 2019/2020. Today however, this is just wonderful; an upper-middle class claret, drinking beautifully but still energised and vigorous.

Medium ruby fading to a silver rim with medium viscosity (13% ABV). The nose has medium intensity aromas of blueberry, violet, blackberry, white pepper, baking spice and marzipan. The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, a medium body and medium tannins. Flavors of slightly green blueberry, blackberry, baking spice and some florals with a tart medium length finish. It's an interesting drop- the structure leans towards the tart which keeps it fresh and lighter on the palate. Suggested pairings would be pasta, grilled mackerel or even a heavily seasoned chicken roast. 88 points for this $17 bottle makes it a 3 star wine to drink till 2027.

I opened and slow ox'd for 3 hours and then we drank it leisurely over the next 2 hours. There was fruit and spice on the nose. The palate was dark berries, dark plums, licorice, dried leaves and hints of spice in the finish which was relatively long. Definitely a wine to pair with food. We served it with cold roast chicken.

Improvement on the previous bottle which was a bit flat. Drinking well, nice minerality, butter, lemon. Should get better yet.

PNP. Grapes from Maranges (2/3) and Pierres Dorées (1/3) in the southern Beaujolais. Fresh and precise in the expression. Medium+ acidity, great integrated. It delivers a pronounced tone of lemon, some grapefruit, buttermilk and a hint of oak. Absolutely delicious at this point, but still with a texture that allows it to be saved for a year or two. The balance is good and the length impressive for the level.

From 18,7cl screwcap. Clean, attenuated entry-level Shiraz wih only 11% alc. and a pleasantly suave, roundly textured, red plum-flavoured mid-palate. Very acceptable quaffer; well chosen by Sainsbury's for their miniatures range; fairly priced at 2,50 GBP. 85P

Light yellow in the glass the taste is bright citrus with a hint of baked goods and a lingering tart finish. Classy, but tastes a little under ripe to my palette!

Après s'être carafé 1 heure 30 minimum et avec 2 délectables fromages (mumster et reblochon), les tannins ont relaxés et le vin a autant ouvert au nez que la bouche.

Un bon produit du BC

Excellent St. Peray, always one of the best whites of the northern Rhone outside of Condrieu.
Bouquet is a mix of stone fruit, some lemon and spring flowers.
A little cooler feel than usual but nice texture with quite a long finish.

It’s been 5/6 months since the first bottle and I felt like trying another one tonight.
Double decanted, spent about 1h open and then 2h in the decanter before going back in the bottle.
3h later it is really sumptuous. A core of dark red fruit with some spice and a hint of olive tapenade.
Excellent balance between fruit , tannin and acidity.
It’s still primary as expected however the winemaking skills are evident. Loads of potential here and easily a wine that can age for another 10-15 years.
Extra point awarded since the previous tasting as everything is in the right place here

Prior bottle was almost exactly a year ago and my notes were quite similar. Grapefruit, white peach, mineral notes and a grassy quality on the nose - distinctly sauvignon blanc. Still to the lighter side of medium bodied, but the flavor profile is essentially the same; melon and pear upfront with more round white apple through the middle. Balanced citrus, acidity and minerals behind. Overall, the wine shows good balance, perhaps even improved slightly from my prior bottle. Given where the structural components are today, this should continue to last. I don't see it improving, but it can certainly hold this level for awhile longer.

Seems to have slipped a little since my last bottle back in 2018. I know this wine well, having gone through five excellent bottles… but not recently. Might just be this bottle, but the nose seems a bit oxidized, the palate is somewhat soft and muddled, and there is a slight madierized character on the finish. I’ll assume this just isn’t the best bottle, am must admit I’m glad it was my last one. All six were kept in a cold cellar, fully temperature controlled.

A medium-deep golden color, with notes of lemon curd, roasted nuts, yeasty bread, crushed stones, and hints of praline. Medium to full bodied, quite rich, a round and creamy texture, but with excellent acidity that nicely frames the long finish.

Double decanted two hours before dinner, and served alongside the ‘82 Margaux. Still a dark purple core, turning to deep garnet at the rim. Notes of cassis, plum, lily, scorched earth, aged cigar, and hints of graphite and truffle. Medium to full bodied, velvety texture, great sense of depth and expansiveness, with a long and savory finish. A magnificent wine, but I have had better bottles.

Great ripe fruit in this one, nice and stony but had the Fume gunflint nicely marching in step with the touches of grapefruit and guava around a juicy citrus core. A crowd pleaser that will gain some complexity in a few years of cellaring.

Außerdem etwas gelbwürzig, tatsächlich an Pfeffer erinnernd. Insgesamt sehr guter, immer noch fester Griff. Minimal warm, allerdings dabei nicht breit.

Guter, vor allem mineralisch geprägter Abgang.

Double decanted two hours before service; fill was base neck and the cork was sound. Deep garnet with some bricking at the rim. Regal and complex bouquet, with notes of dried black fruits, black truffle, roasted herbs, cigar box and earth. Medium bodied, with a savory character, great depth, incredible balance, and excellent delineation and focus on the long finish. Impressive, if just a notch behind the best bottles of ‘88 Haut Brion.

Deep garnet purple color. The nose is primarily fresh black cherry and dark red fruits, with subtle undertones of eucalyptus, crushed gravel, and graphite. The juicy dark red fruits lead the way upon sipping. There is a lot of freshness and youth here, and still reward for the patient among us should you wait a while longer to try one. I suggest another 2-3 years in the cellar. Good now too, if you feel the compulsion to sip one. Decant 2-3 hours.

1/12 Half. Dense ruby to mid cherry. A mildly herbaceous edge to the nose initially beneath which sits a dark red fruit that starts to open to a pinch of vanilla and a really enticing albeit fleeting Vosne-like exotic spice. Quite a lot here for the appellation, though the depth and length are no more than one would expect. Still quite young. An interesting and intriguing start to the case. ***1/2

dry, high acidity, high round soft tannins, high abv, full body, very good complexity, rich fruity flavour, well balanced, medium length finish, long pleasant aftertaste.
Drink now - at peak. Unlikely to further improve with additional aging.
Bottom line: exceeded our expectations for this wine at this age.

Color shady without clarity, brown/orange at the edges as you would expect from a 27 years old wine. Bouquet flawless, but a little flat. The positive was the still very alive tannins, but otherwise a little sharp and not much fruit left.

I used Coravin when pouring, so no decant.

Initially quite rustic and diffuse, with a cellar note. The aromas become clearer with time.

A mixture of blackcurrant, cherry, rosehip, iron/blood on the nose.
Quite a lot of tannin, but round and does not get in the way.
Medium acidity and in harmony with the rest of the wine.

Already very good balance and perhaps an extra point for that.

I read a lot of notes that the wine should be aged, but at least with this bottle, I don't see why it can't be drunk in its current state.

Very good - Excellent.

Nose of powerful fruit aromas such as blueberries and dark cherries, juniper, chocolate, and smoky notes emerge. On the palate very distinctive, spicy, and terroir-driven classic from the Veneto. Combined with its soft tannins, it fits perfectly as a food companion.
However, still too young- needs another year of cellaring
