NEWJFC’s review is spot on. 5 years in and there’s good acidity and Grenache fruit. Not overly complex but an easy drinking and enjoyable GSM. Another well made wine from Jimmy and Shelly Zanoli.

A week after sampling the same vintage of their" Chalk Hill" designation.
On nose and palate: some similarities to the Chalk Hill, with slightly less backbone, and a softer, buttery note, but the oak, apple and light citrus notes still hit the spot .....at $5.00 less and two points lower, still a decent choice.

Pop and pour. Lovely nose with red cherry, black cherry flavors. Clean ruby color. Medium intensity. Acidity is medium. The fruit aroma is reasonable and the tannin structure is relatively soft. After half an hour of drinking, the taste becomes smoother. This is a great wine at a competitive price. Compared to vintage 2016, 2018 has more of a new world style.

Medium expressive nose displaying elegant white and yellow fruit, honeydew, candied lemon peel, white peach, white flowers, subtle white pepper, rainwater, and limestone. Very good concentration, nicely layered delicious pure white and yellow fruit, elegant yet energetic, beautifully detailed, bright acidity, fine mineral, and a long pure white and yellow fruit driven mineral finish with white flower and white pepper at the end. This is a beautifully balanced energetic wine.

Deep color. Blackberries, black cherries, black currants, licorice, earthiness and hints of spice and tobacco in the nose. Black currants, blackberries, and minerals in the flavor. A complex wine, well balanced, medium to full bodied and a long smooth finish. Drinking very well now and for another four to five years

Light, pleasant white. Fruity, slight notes of currants. Overall a good value

I had to try it to decide if I would buy more bottles. I still don’t know cause it’s much too young. I had Priorat wines in their youth that I liked a lot and knew right away that they would be great eventually. This one is still up to debate. It is and will be excellent but will it be great ? Now there is an imbalance between acidity (too much) and fruits-tannins. I think it could mellow with many years in the cellar and be a great wine. First bottle of this wine so I don’t know the expected evolution. Now, it’s not as good as a Dofi, Clos Mogador, La Creu, mas Doix etc that I found extremely promising tasting their wine in their youth.

Medium expressive nose displaying concentrated ripe, chunky red fruit, raspberry preserve, strawberry jam, a hint of luxurious oak, charred steak, caramel, grilled cep, and a hint of sous bois, dark spices and earth. The oak presence is still quite noticeable. Excellent concentration, generous ripe red fruit, rich and chewy, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium long ripe red fruit driven meaty finish. It remains quit youthful, not showing much sous bois. We all agree that it lacks clarity and transparency. Hopefully the oak expression will diminish with another ten years of cellaring.

On day #1, I did not decant this enough. On night #2, I gave the second 375ml several hours of air. Big improvement. This, to me, is more anecdotal evidence that DIAM corks are allowing many recent white burgundies to age correctly. The nose has hazelnuts; the palate is also like a chiseled Meursault with just a hint of the ripe white fruit side of En Remilly. This rivals the best St. Aubins from the best vintages.

Soft, fruity, not a huge amount of structure but easy to sip. Probably not getting better.

I find it interesting that pro reviewers of champagne (and drinkers in general), can have such different interpretations of flavor profile and texture of champagne. Admittedly not an expert, I’m picking up flavors of apricot, raspberry and pie pastry. Feels like medium bodied with a creamy texture on the palate, with just enough uplifting acidity on the finish to balance the body. Very good and great value. Recommended.

1.5 hour decant and in a great spot from the get go. Red fruits singing, underpinned by black plums, violet, charcoal, and underbrush. Smooth vanilla and ultra fine tannins frame everything. Long finish keeps you contemplating them going in for more.

True grand cru. Prior bottle may have been in trough, or bottle variation? Showed intense dark fruit, mushrooms, herbal, crunchy mineral. Finish just went and went. One of best burgundies I've had.

This Arnyca ‘21 Cabernet is tasting really nice. It has juicy black and red fruits, tobacco, pie crust, vanilla biscuits (from England) spices and red licorice. Hints of chocolate with slight herbs and fresh florals. It’s medium to full bodied. It’ll take some time to improve even more! Cheers

A really good bottle of wine but I will continue to be surprised by how young Roumier Bonnes Mares can taste even after 23yrs and a vintage thats generally accessible. Very brooding but very charming and with more air becomes more giving and elegant.

Medium-pale ruby red with pink rim. Fresh red fruits, raspberry, dark cherry, rhubarb, cotton candy, wood, white pepper and minerality. Medium bodied, medium-high acidity, medium tannin, medium structure, medium alcohol and medium finish. Fresh, bright and summerly. A delicious drink with or without food. I would not bother cellaring them. Drink them while fresh and youthful.

I supposed I'm not a sophisticated Burgundy consumer. Yes I confess.

That said, I have had a number of bottles from Domaine Gachot-Monot and have failed so far to be disappointed. This Cotes De Nuits Villages offers lively, fresh notes of bright red fruit. There is sufficient structure, tannins and finish without distraction. Full and well balanced in the mouth and sufficiently complex to enjoy without requiring a Phd in viticulture.

A Burgundy or Pinot Noir offering so much enjoyment for under $40 is hard to find on any continent. Ignorance can be bliss.

Beautiful brioche nose, more expressive after a day open in the fridge. John's notes are on the money, Meyer lemon, kiwi, chamomile...two of which I was thinking before cheating by looking at his back label. And the lingering chalky saline finish dances elegantly. The softened acid is perfectly balanced for my taste. Crisp and not buttery at all. Very high QPR.

The nose has almost no fruit. It’s all subtle secondary notes of leather and smoke. On the palate, it’s slightly sweet with a vaguely red fruit quality and a short finish. The sweetness is just barely there. Although it’s comes up short in some respects, overall it’s very nice. Pairs well with dark chocolate and that sort thing.

Stood upright about a month ago. Was clear, but could only decant all but 5oz. Bottle had sediment caked to it near the cork where it had been resting. Cork was in great shape.

Massive aromas of stems, light red fruit, herbs and aromatics of herbs from the dry side of sun drenched hills loaded with scrubs, smoke, crisp bacon, cherries, elderberries, plus other smells for which I have no lexicon. This nose is stretching my abilities!

Palate is rich. Lots of stems. Smoke, bacon, cured meats, dry burnt edges of bbq pit slow cooked meat. Rich and very rich. I think too much stem tannin.
EXCELLENT wine. Love it.

A rare find of an 18 year old wine. Having recently tried the 2014, we were blown away by the quality of the wine.

Color. Dark garnet red.

Nose. Cedar, currants, mint, eucalyptus, sweet cherries.

Palate. Tart cherries, cocoa, bright acidity, tannins are still present. Very well developed but still youthful after 18 years.
