This has aged very impressively. A great year of course and Concannon's Concannon Vineyard Petite Sirah has a reputation for longevity. Tremendous varietal characteristics. Tremendous now but will last.

PnP - very expressive nose, blueberry and other dark fruits jump out of the glass, really delightful if not overly complex. Easy drinking, tannins fully resolved, probably at peak but not in danger of fading anytime soon.

Deep inky color, soft, nice fruit flavor. The wine is drinking well, probably not gonig to get any better. A good value wine as it is not expensive but holds up well over time.

Drank with Tom Concannon and local winemaking legends. Still alive, and completely merged. The 11.5% alc and acidity preserved this one.

Big and bold as expected, but not off-putting. Quite well balanced considering. Heavy tannin, dark fruit, and a long finish.

Didn’t know what to expect from a rose of Petit Sirah, but was pleasantly surprised. Refreshing with notes of grapefruit and sour stonefruit. Not too complex but a good everyday wine.

Good color - inky ruby black. Still has violets on the palette and decent finish. My very last bottle of 2 cases and very pleased it survived so well.

Raspberry taste and aromas. Get small hint of chocolate or mocha. Finishes with slight dryness.

Dark garnet color. A bit heavy on first taste. It mellowed out as it opened up. Had with pasta and chicken in marinara sauce. Definitely needs a heavy food component to compliment it.

Monte de Oro Blind CA Petite Sirah Tasting (Temecula, CA): Last Petite Sirah in a large blind tasting. Not many specific notes but did appreciate the balance and sharp fruit quality of the wine. Lightest of 12 with the shortest finish, but I enjoyed it for that quality. PS can be too bold, tannic and overdone. This wine shows restraint on those fronts.

Salmon-colored, limpid and highly perfumed, this rosé delivers a beautiful balance of floral and fruit elements. Rose petal, jasmine, strawberry and stone fruit aromas are followed by comparable flavors on a light-bodied, fresh, bone dry, seamlessly alcoholic (14.1%) palate. Solid in the middle and finishing with good length, this impressive offering from Concannon will be a "can't miss" hit this summer and next summer. Drink now-2018.

Drinking well. Deep garnet color with fragrant fruit still very evident. The edges have rounded off the wine showed smoothness

Super dark with just a slight ruby at the edge.
On the nose is deep, dark fruit. Quite closed; not much else.
On the palate is blackberry and heavy tannin. Otherwise quite bland.
Finish is long and dry.

This was a real disappointment.
Dark purple throughout, only slightly clear near the rim.
Nose of very dark fruit, plum, and alcohol.
Palate is subtle blackberry, very heavy in tannin, but little else. Very closed feeling; let decant for an hour, not much improvement. Potentially this is the norm for petite sirah, but definitely not my cup of tea.

A bit harsh on the nose; nothing special.
On the tongue, it is very dark but smooth. Strong tannins, but not overwhelming.
Overall just kinda plain. Nothing wrong... just nothing great.

Very enjoyable. Dark inky color. Crnberry and orange rhind on the nose. Spice, blackberry, cedar on the palate. Medium finish.

Super jammy, full bodied red with a lot of pepper. Paired it with red meat and was quite satisfied. Could probably stand up to BBQ.
The wine looks Inky colored. The legs are Medium. It tastes like Blackberry, and Black Pepper. The body is Full. The wine has Round texture. The wine finishes Medium.

Original 1999 Reserve bottling had a clear label with gold and red. It bore the notation: "Prestigious Red Dinner Wine". Back label was "signed" by then Winemaker Tom Lane. The wine label shown here may have been for a Trader Joe's marketing effort? Original wine was rich, plummy and vigorous - - even as recently as two weeks ago. A little bottle-stink blew off to reveal a stunningly integrated and complete Petite. Am guessing there may have been several bottlings from different barrels. The 99's I've tasted have been bell ringers.

When I had this at the winery in march 12 didn't really enjoy it that much. Had I'd last night and felt it definitely developed into something much more enjoyable in the time. Nice vibrant flavor.

Good Petite Sirah, but unremarkable overall. Good value on sale. Muted bouquet on the nose, nothing much distinct. A hint of fruit up front on taste, but overall nothing exciting in the flavor department. A little tannin, but not much finish.

This petite sirah tasted more like a grenache, which is not what I look for in a petite. Not bad, but nothing special in any aspect of this wine.

This vintage continues to improve. Smooth, rich, full-bodied, just about a perfect petite sirah. Its' near its peak in the 750ml, but the magnums should take a few years to reach their peak.
