Rosé - Sparkling
2000 Moët & Chandon Champagne Grand Vintage Rosé France, Champagne

This is a very nice, more subdued Rose. Very nice mousse. Good bubbles. Nice salmon pink color, with a tinge of orange. This is quite enjoyable. Tart strawberry, raspberry with a touch of dough and cream. It very much resembled fruit and vanilla cream, but there was also good minerality. Everything was well balanced. While this is not a "wow" wine, it is in a good place right not and is a pleasure to drink.

White
1996 Château de Fieuzal Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Past its prime, but still an enjoyable bottle. Showing signs of oxidation. Lemony citrus on nose with sherry like character. This exhibited a good amount of smoke, charcoal and molasses on the palate. This mellowed after some time in the glass and developed a nice butterscotch note. I've never had an aged dry white Bordeaux. I quite enjoyed this, though the sherry quality was a little overpowering at times. This was not flawed, but it is beyond its ideal drinking window if you are looking for something brighter with more citrus and minerals. Neverthless, I see this continuing to mellow in the next few years and it should continue to drink well.

Red
2002 Gros Frère et Sœur Clos Vougeot Musigni France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

A delicious wine. On the sweeeter side, which may not appeal to everyone. This has a very full intoxicating nose of red fruit, menthol, floral notes and minerals. Maybe a touch of forest floor too? The wine jumps out of the glass. The acidity on the palate is well balanced and the fruit is round and soft. With some time in the glass, the secondary notes of mocha and caramel develop nicely, but they are subtle and fleeting. This is not a long haul wine. It seems to be in the perfect spot for drinking right now. If you've got 'em, time to drink them (through 2015ish). The finish, while not long, is in proportion. Enjoyable.
