August 5, 2022 - Just gorgeous. Ruby red; clear coloring. Held up well over the two hour drinking time. Special mouthfeel, bright red fruit. Began to fade a little toward the end but that did not diminish our enjoyment Have five more we will drink over the next year and share with friends.

August 3, 2022 - Saturated brick red in color. Initial aromas of spice, florals, red fruits give way to soy, balsam, soil tones framed over dark red fruits. Medium bodied palate shows sour-sweet red fruits, cherry pits, brown sauce/soy, good acidity and a decent finish. This bottle showed well.

November 13, 2021 - Tastes awful and undrinkable in weird way. Not corked or heat damaged, but simply tasted horrible.

May 2, 2021 - Fairly dark, especially for a 2002, though there is some browning. Initial hit of black olives on the nose, which I thought was a bit odd. This wine has always struck me as over-oaked, and once again the oak signature here is distracting and unpleasant. The fruit is quite plummy though inoffensive. It's not a bad wine, but very much one-note and not Grand Cru caliber. It just doesn't have the energy or complexity to merit much attention. No better on day 2. From Riedel Burgundy stems.

April 29, 2021 - Clos Vougeot - Northside / Chambolle-side Tasting (Chicago): Forward and generous nose of smoky, floral, spicy black fruit. Palate is rich and generous with flavors similar to the nose. Fruity and fun if not the most complex.
