Julian did warn that the bottle endured a "rocky ride" on the way, which explained the presence of sediment in every glass! Notes of leather and sweet earth, with a hint of soy sauce which I didn't enjoy. Tannins a little harsh at the end.

rich and powerful. sweet nose of cedar and lead pencil. good structure and balance, but perhaps not the most charming of Latours.

fabulous nose of cigar, coffee and dried herbs. very seductive. mellow on the palate. at its absolute peak.
