Pear and lemon. Fine texture with plenty of lemon acidity, the spritz is extremely subtle.

Mango and peach aromas. Quite rounded in the mouth but there is good texture to give it some interest.

Oat, orange rind and flint aromas. Lovely texture with beautiful balance and length. Want to try this under more relaxed circumstances.

Ginger, citrus peel, smoke, pear and flint - plenty going on here. Round but driven as well. Not bad at all.

Cloudy cherry coloured. Earth, perfumed roses and red currant. Touch of stalk shows through on the palate. Appealing and interesting wine.

Funky DMS style aromas but they weren't enough to put me off it, there are herbs, meaty and five spice notes. Good length with fine tannins and a touch of that herbal character too but I like it!

Rose petals, stalk, mineral notes and cherries. Luscious cherry flavours on the palate with good mouthfeel and drive.

Funky with meat and earth. Has good cut through acidity and medium length.

Cleaner than the 2011 Pinot Gris with plum, pear, citrus a just a hint of earth. Luscious mouthfeel, well balanced by cutting acidity and savoury fruit character. Very good indeed.

Orange peel, dusty notes and earth. Grips the palate, the intensity of the fruit keeps up and the wine has good length. Plenty of interest evident.

Intense nose with a huge amount going on - florals, musk, meat and earth. Texture is brilliant, the wine flows and just has a light grip. Cerebral and delicious.

Heavy musky florals with peach, pineapple and earth. Drying tannins help the texture and after every sip I wanted to come back for more due to the fine acidity. Good length.

Cherries and slate aromas. Heavy acidity doesn't connect with the fruit. I like that it avoids the too heavy density of some McLaren Vale wines but needs better balance.

More appeal than the 2012 for my taste with florals, plum, spice and mulberry with cinnamon in the background. More body and plushness here but it is still restrained and the acidity is much more integrated.

Lemon and light spice aromas. Light body, feels like there is a lick of residual sugar - there is quite good acidity. Not much depth but a nice wine to drink.

Stemmy with lemon pith and straw. Rounded mouthfeel but there is good minerality and length. Interesting.

Violets and light cherry. Medium bodied, some sweet fruit. Falls short in length but I don't mind the wine as it is.

Stemmy and licorice notes. Soft mouthfeel, no length to speak of. Lacks appeal.

Flint, slate and lemon. Nice restraint with good balance and length.

Strawberry, rose and spice. Good acidity with medium intensity of fruit leaves the feeling of it being well balanced and refreshing.

Spice and musk with cherry and plum. Delicious on the palate, with plush red fruit that is just decidedly tasty. Good carry.

Cloudy coloured. Stem, red licorice, and light spice. Nice elegance to the palate the fruit starts to show just a touch of richness over the mid palate and finish. Well balanced I think.

Plenty of oak on the nose, though it is integrated much better on the palate - there is also slate and lemon aromas. Finely detailed palate, even with powerful fruit it is textured and shows very good length. An impressive balancing act and I think if you aren't scared of oak this is very good.

Ash, black currant and plum. Very fine tannins with clean red fruits - this has a feeling of very good balance, though it doesn't have the same impressive explosive presence as the Chardonnay.

Musk and lime. Like sweet lime cordial on the palate. Some acidity but not enough to give it spark.

Grapefruit and lemon with a touch of floral and mineral notes. Sweetness is there on the palate but it isn't prominent. Medium length, I wish it had a bit more depth.

Spice, lime and lemon. Good mouthfeel, hints towards being off dry with good length.

Soapy florals and some stonefruit. Quite spicy on the palate, not bad but lacks excitement.

Mint, VA and bruised apple aromas. Palate is sour and for my taste, not at all balanced.

Pear and apple aromas. Nicely balanced but lacks interest.

Pear, apple, cinnamon and other spices. Palate has good fruit fruit and good texture. Getting better even with a miniscule amount of time in the glass.

Meaty/bretty aromas. Very sweet palate with a bitter edge. Ick.

Interesting nose of mint, stalk and spice. Good mouthfeel with only a hint of sweetness and nice acidity cutting through. The best of the wines I tried from this producer today.

Iron and blood, plum and some meaty character. Lith palate, the edges feel just a touch bitter but it's not too bad.

Cherry, graphite, earth and spice. Lighter-medium bodied plenty of spice character on the palate too. Has some length to it as well. Pleasant.

Meat, graphite, cranberry and violets. Has good refinement and class about it, there is still plenty of spice and good acidity to carry it. Would like to try again.

Rhubarb, plum and raspberry aromas. Sweet red fruit on the palate, though in a light weight style. Quite refreshing with just a light grip to it.

Spice and pepper with some lime. Bright palate, good mouthfeel and length.

Mineral, lemon and stalk. Bright palate with the fruit richness tempered by the minerality and acidity. Really liked this.

Light nose of citrus and flint. Some spice shows through on the palate, with good length and nice drive.

Spice, lemon and jasmine. Soft palate but has some herb notes to give it some interest. Medium length.

Slate, lemon, spice and herbs. Medium bodied with good acidity to give it drive.

Floral with lemon curd and smoke. Rich fruit, has intensity and depth that I liked. Persistent as well.

Earth and citrus peel. Richly fruited with good texture and balance. Medium length.

Some funk with mandarin and soil. Grippy palate with good texture and despite the rich fruit it finishes nicely dry.

Fragrant with lemon, musk and floral notes. Light on the palate with just a touch of grip. Medium length.

Pine and ash aromas. Rounded palate but still has drive and it doesn't feel soft. Lingering flavour - it is interesting more than pleasant.

Dense florals, musk, melon, ash and pear. Heavy gripping tannins on the palate, with good length and depth to the fruit. I liked this quite a bit.

Corked.

Olive and stems, meat and spice. Rich and plush on the palate, has more generosity of fruit than I expected from the nose. Good acidity, though there is a streak of stemminess that may put some off.

Cloudy coloured. Melon, peach, pineapple and spices. Medium bodied, with decent length but not a whole lot to stand out as exciting.

Cherry, plum, spice and slate. Palate shows clean red fruits and a core of minerality. Very very drinkable.

Stalk, spice, cherry and dark floras. Bright on the palate, lifting and tasty. Medium length and has a good dose of spice.

Pine, lemon, florals and spice. Good mouthfeel - it is pretty without being too round. Nice acidity to focus and drive. Would be good to try again.

Plum, roses and red cherry. Bright, juicy mouthfeel with a kick of acidity that gives the wine direction. Really appealing.

Graphite and spice. Extremely well balanced palate, has just a light grip but really nice pure fruit and driven acidity.

Cherry, ash and plums. Plush mouthfeel with medium tannins in support. Would like to look at this closer sometime.

Perfumed florals with some iron and earth. Palate has good plushness, it may lack a little in structure but it's a wine that drinks really well.

Pepper, spice, plum and smoke. Good tannic profile and the acidity is very fine. While the fruit is quite plump, the tannins and acidity counter well and balance the wine out.
