Strange entry, but ended up being a fave chez Pierre Morey today: another effusive, strange nose--old wood, tiny bit of Pledge, graphite? 2011 ladybug taint? Tough to assess. Then very different on palate! Good acid, dense lemon and chalk, actually very good!

Wow! Round, elegant, amazing! Flea collar aromas and salinity. This is an example of what I call the "diffuse/watery" style of Meursault at its best.

Nose is cedar. Palate is tighter vs Vdg Selec; more acid, somehow less promising to my palate at this juncture than Vdg Selec?! At least at this point. This will be a long-lived wine, so: I'm sure I'll be proved wrong at some point down the line!

A regal charmer. Wow. Smoky, noble old wood. Roses, blueberry jam, austere but still pretty awesome. Highly recommend.

Struck match on nose. Green mineral; chalk, lovely. Green pollen, play doh aroma. A unique, regal wine. Granny smith apple character. Jean-Charles left me with the haunting image of the entire team finally heading out to inspect the hail damage. "No one dared speak a single word. You just knew, you couldn't pronounce a single word...."

Wow! Yum! A winner! Tea, blueberry jam, very noble and spring water pure. Dark cherry.

10% new oak. Nose is beautiful with a fresh fruit that rushes to the nose! But no syrupy heft here--thin, like pure spring water, forest pine needles, wild strawberry, jam in tow. Palate shows watery acid, vinyl, strawberry jam, red currant residuals.

Huge plummy jam fruit on nose, palate is more respectable; drying tannins and acid, remains fruit-driven though. Tight, smoked plum jam finish.

Big, dense fruit, nice bitter acid to close, bitter; very good, tea and tiny bit of heat on finish, vineyard is quick-draining limestone.

Oooh! Skunky nose! Assy chocolate musk! Palate is astringent but wild strawberry jam. Bressandes always has a savage character. I like Bressandes. Takes 4-5 years for the stems to integrate. The big question at harvest is: "Are the stems ripe?"

Nose: YES! FINALLY a mineral Corton Charlie at this damned tasting! Everything else is just oaky applesauce! Palate shows a saccharine apple yogurt, watery but full of spiky minerality. Finishes with pricks of acid, tiniest slight latex. My favorite Corton Charlie tasted today, and I'd've never guessed it'd've come from this unknown producer.
