Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2010 Weingut Battenfeld-Spanier Frauenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Rheinhessen
88 points
Colour: Ripe golden colour
Nose: Very ripe aromas like papaya, candied mango, apricot, lemon peel and some honey.
Palate: Medium bodied, citrus & a "stony" component, nice saltiness, medium+ acidity, medium finish.

We tasted this blind and I had never thought that this wine is from 2010. Very ripe nose for a GG from this vintage.

White
2011 Thomas Studach Chardonnay Switzerland, Eastern Switzerland, Graubünden, Malans
90 points
Colour: Young, hay-golden colour.
Nose: You recognize immediately that this wine was aged in oak. Caramel, some white peach, ripe orange and elderberries. The fruit is more subtle.
Palate: Medium bodied, the oak is there but don´t overpower the wine. A kind of bitterness on the finish.

Flight 3 (1 note)

White
2009 Matassa Côtes Catalanes Blanc France, Languedoc Roussillon, Roussillon, Côtes Catalanes
92 points
Colour: Looks a bit ripe, intense medium-golden.
Nose: In the beginning A LOT of apple juice then some orange zest & peel, tangerine and some yellow flowers. With more time the secondary aromas come to light. I get some marzipan, bread crust & a nail enamel remover component. Complex nose.
Palate: Medium+ body but not to much. Salty, spicy, powerful, juicy and a great drinkability. Bone-dry. Love the tension in this wine. Medium+ finish.

I highly recommend to decant this wine before drinking.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1994 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
90 points
I completely agree with Oh Dae-su´s tasting note, couldn´t add much more to his descripton. A very earthy nose with a lot of mirepoix, later a bit more subtle fruit like strawberries. Palate was very good for a Village wine at this age from this vintage. Still some tannins left. Again very earthy & stony. Drink up soon.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2009 Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Porêts Saint-Georges France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
91 points
Colour: Dark garnet red
Nose: Vibrant red fruit like red cherry, raspberry alongside licorice and a hint of vanilla & cinnamon. Very "sexy" nose.
Palate: Medium-body, again licorice and a bit of sea salt. Very fine tannins. Good combination of power & fleshiness. More a masculine companion. Still way to young.

White - Off-dry
1992 Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese ** Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
90 points
A lovely finish of a nice tasting. A lot of green herbs on the nose mixed with aromas of peel of a watermelon, a bit of mango and a empty bowl of stawberries. A elegant, easy drinking wine on the palate with not to much sweetness. But unfortunately a lack of acidity.
