Flight 1 (21 notes)
White
2000 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Le Montrachet
Two bottles of this, and unfortunately it didn't shine in either presentation.
White
2004 Bouchard Père et Fils Montrachet
Two bottles of this. Both were clean, pristine, and very good.
White
2002 Henri Boillot Montrachet
I wasn't as big a fan of this as others. The nose was nonexistent. The palate opened up, and was quite good, but expected more.
White
2005 Domaine Jacques Prieur Montrachet
I've actually never had a Prieur Montrachet, and this was very good. I would definitely buy this wine.
White
2009 Domaine Ramonet Montrachet
My note was illegible. Thinking this was the controversial corked bottle?
White
Red
1980 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant
A beautiful bottle that showed its 1980 character perfectly. Loved it.
Red
1993 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant
Very very good, but very very young. The good 93's simply don't show any sign of ageing. When will they mature?
Red
1998 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant
There was something off with this bottle. Very brett like, and overpowered the wine.
Red
1988 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg
An absolute rock star, that was easily my WOTN for Saturday night. Loved this bottle.

Red
1997 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Richebourg
I have a soft spot for Meo Richebourg, and seemed to like this better than others. But it was 97 and presented appropriately for the vintage.
Red
1999 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée St. Vivant
flawed
Corked, notwithstanding protestations to the contrary.
Red
2006 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée St. Vivant
This did virtually nothing for me, but others liked it. It's a producer that rarely moves me.
