Captures the essence of Côte des Bar Pinot Noir with its power and weight and its ripe fruit; the style is pure and linear, precise and direct, focused, with pure flavours and very good length.

Like the Fidèle 2012 tasted just before, this is a beautifully precise expression of grape and terroir. It is quite a forceful Chardonnay (even in 2011), but with the mineral freshness to balance the weight of fruit and the absence of dosage lends the wine a very clean and pure feel.

An whirlwind of a nose with confit strawberries and spice, violets, almonds and red cherries (these latter notes derived from six days of carbonic maceration); natural sweetness from the ripe fruit and a firm, mineral and fresh core, direct and precise as wines from this maison are. Excellent, rare and quite expensive.

Half-fermented grape juice. Like cherry lemonade spiked with alcohol, but its sweetness is completely natural and it is wonderfully refreshing in its simple but pure way.

Just ready and tasted five days before the official release of the Beaujolais Nouveau - which is essentially what this is. But the crucial difference with the mass-produced stuff is that this is made in a completely natural way. Pure, young Gamay, ripe fruit, violets, peach, cherries, soft but fresh, feels completely relaxed and unhurried. Delicious.

Magnum. Feels warmer and riper than the 2015 tasted just before, with even a hint of forest floor.

Just recognisable as Pinot Gris, but I do not really get the point.

Made with just the free-run juicy from Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes from Le Mazel, this is indeed deliciously peachy. Not complex, but I will have another glass, thank you very much!

Clean, fresh, honest and direct, good Syrah typicity. Attractive.

Really fresh and lively style, quite different from the more powerful 2012 with its strong notes of linen and chamomile. Toby Bainbridge explained that he is quite pleased with the 2014 and that it is much more in the direction he wants to take.

Magnum, crown cork. Unwooded. Zippy and slender, pure and youthful, delicious ripe fruit and that typical note of bubblegum. Cheerful.

Powerful and rich, but also a bit monolithic and the pronounced note of flower honey is a bit too dominant for my taste. Impressive but not really for me.

Based on my experience with the wines Fabrice Vigot makes from this plot, I thought that it needs a warm vintage to really shine (I have fond memories of the delectable 2009). This is probably still true, but this 2013 proves that it can also do well in a cooler vintage. Just pure and youthful Burgundy, violets, minerals, freshness - not unlike the Bourgogne Rouge 2013 from Duband.

A relatively light style, but it is elegant, the tannins are ripe and the extraction is well-judged; it does not have much of the typical Asian spice and red earth character which is so typical for Vosne, but there is a lovely old-vine creaminess, particularly on the finish. To drink now and over the next 3-5 years.

Rich and ripe style, rounded and mouthfilling, but I am not too keen on the fruit of yellow apple on the nose. I like my Chenin Blanc a little crisper.

Not as expressive as last year, and while I like this slightly more subtle and subdued style, without the pyrazines jumping out of the glass, it also indicates that this is a wine that was to be drunk as young as possible.

From a small domaine in Corpeau, just east of Chassagne-Montrachet. Exemplary Aligoté. Pure and crisp but not tart or acidic, lemon and minerals, excellent balance. Delightful.

Fresh, floral, fragrant, elegant and typical, balanced and charming. Really nice and good QPR.

Sturdy and flavoursome, with good citrus fruit but also a bit foursquare. Typical Timorasso therefore.

Quite an evolved and mature style, much more powerful and with a wall of tannins that I am not used to from Verduno.

Little to it flavour wise, nothing wrong but all I get is a hint of vanilla from the oak. Does not make me happy. Very expensive too (€ 34.80).
