Pop and pour. Just enough of everything. Ripe, but balanced. Textured, yet alluringly tropical. Super fun wine for now. This might improve a little going forward, but certainly better now vs 10 years from now.

2002 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault Désirée France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

Reticent start, and while more fruit and spice emerged with air, the pleasure never really emerged vs the structure, giving a slightly lean edge throughout, particularly on finish.
Red
2007 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru

Red cherry and berry with good floral and spice notes. Moderate weight and depth, I like this now but don't see it getting better with more cellar time. But I thought the same about the 2000 vintage of this wine at this stage in its evolution, and that is still getting better and better.
Red
2013 Lucien Le Moine Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
This had been opened 5-6 hours earlier with ~4 hours in a decanter. Still slightly reductive, and that never really went away. While I liked the spice and floral charm, there was a fundamental fruit deficit from the start, and got more pronounced with more time in glass. An odd wine, very uncharacteristic of LLM.
Red
1991 Domaine Leroy Nuits St. Georges Aux Lavières France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
91 points
Ripe blue and red berry on nose and palate. Some cherry cola hints to start that started softening with 15-20 minutes in glass. Forward and fresh with moderate weight. easy to enjoy, even if not super nuanced.
Red
1995 Dominique Laurent Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
87 points
Good nose with black fruit and lots of fun spice, even if new oak still protrudes. Good overall and easy to enjoy, particularly when first poured. Started seeming more tired with more time in glass, while still showing a bit of 1995's coarseness.
Red
1996 Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
flawed
First bottle slightly corked.

Open a couple of hours before serving, but more air would have helped make this even better. Lots of red and black fruit with subtle spice. This had the meatiness I often associate with Bonnes Mares, but an elegance that Kevin thought showed more Musigny character. Very good, with upside from here.
Red
2002 Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Popped and poured. Backward, so I wish we had opened this sooner. Good fruit and spice, but this never fully came together tonight in the limited 20-30 minutes in glass. I like the concentration here, so think there is great potential, but this just didn't show that potential tonight. This has also been a very inconsistent wine through the years.
Red
2003 Marcassin Pinot Noir Blue-Slide Ridge Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
Very ripe, Liberace-esque extroverted Cali Pinot with lots of heat. You either like this or you don't.

1990 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage

Lots of ripe black berries and plum with good spice and plenty of that classic la Chapelle barnyard. Great fruit and good spice make this very easy to enjoy, but I think others who enjoy the wine's typical earthiness liked this much more than I did tonight.

1963 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto

Dried and sweet cherry with some raisiny concentration. Very enjoyable, just less depth and power vs better bottles I've been fortunate to enjoy in recent years.
