Introduction

KF, PK, MB - tremendous beef stew!

Flight 1 (2 notes)

Red
2013 Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley USA, California, Napa Valley
78 points
Slightly overripe (raisinated) black fruit (a bit dirty) with just a hint of stewed bell pepper herbaceousness and just a little hint of oak (freshly-sanded wood). A bit hot - with elevated alcohol, low tannins, and medium acid. Tastes like what it is - a basic Napa cab.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Brut Réserve France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
87 points
Intensely perfumed. Complex and appetizing nose of slightly toasted baguette, green apple, and ripe yellow apple, and dark berry fruit (80% Pinot). The flavors are well-knit together and shifted intriguingly as it breathed. On the palate, good acidity but just a touch sweet for me - I'm guessing this is 10-15g RS? Great finish, great length. Moderately-sized bubbles - not exceptionally fine.
