Apple, pear, some grass. A little rounded on the palate. Medium length, nicely approachable style.
White
2010 Scarborough Wine Co Sémillon White Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Toast, lemon and orange. Good balance and length, in a good middle spot, taking on some age but still plenty of youthful freshness.
White
2016 Scarborough Wine Co Verdelho Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
85 points
Pear, lemon and musk. Quite sweet on the palate, with the acidity only kicking in at the end, but the finish ending a bit abruptly. Mediocre.
White
2015 Scarborough Wine Co Vermentino Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Peach, pineapple and chalk. Medium weight, nice balance between acidity and fruit - feels full but not over-ripe. Should be good over the next couple of years.
White
2015 Scarborough Wine Co Chardonnay Blue Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Lime, apple, light smoke. Good fruit, there is some depth and intensity to it. Medium length and quite open at this early stage. Drink over the next 5-6 years.
White
2013 Scarborough Wine Co Chardonnay Yellow Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Honey, mandarin and lemon. Rich flavour with the fruit feeling quite ripe, though the acid stands up to it well. Medium length. A couple more years for this to settle a little and it should be good.
White
2014 Scarborough Wine Co Chardonnay The Obsessive Gillards Road Vineyard Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Mineral, musk, slate and light oak. The acidity on the palate is high, but the fruit has good intensity to stand up to it. Fresh and bright and at the same time having good depth. Possibly just a little unsettled at the moment, but I'd like to see it again in a few years.
White
2010 Scarborough Wine Co Chardonnay White Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Floral, spice and citrus notes. Developing nicely, with a mix of honeyed and toasty elements, good length and balance. I don't think this needs a lot more time, maybe a couple more years and then I'd like to see it again.
Rosé
2016 Scarborough Wine Co Offshoot Pinot Noir Rosé Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
87 points
Strawberry, rose and herb. Sweet red fruits, medium length. Nothing wrong with this, but no excitement.
Red
N.V. Scarborough Wine Co Pinot Noir Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
86 points
Earth, raspberry and floral notes. Light body, a touch of sweetness from the fruit. Decent enough but ultimately uninteresting.
Red
2013 Scarborough Wine Co Shiraz Black Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Mint, blackcurrant, truffle and earth. Medium bodied with good acidity. Medium length. Pretty solid effort, with some interest and good enjoyment factor. I probably should have grabbed a bottle of this to try again later.
Red
2011 Scarborough Wine Co Shiraz Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Oak, earth, cherry and redcurrant. The balance here feels good, plenty of fruit body, nicely fine but present tannins, good acidity and sweet/savoury notes. Good length as well. Shows off the strength of the Hunter in 2011.
Red
2010 Scarborough Wine Co Shiraz Black Label Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Raspberry, earth, ash and cherry. Good blend of savoury and sweet fruits on the palate, there is good spice throughout. Enjoyable and will age a couple more years thanks to good acid structure.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2012 Scarborough Wine Co Sémillon Late Harvest Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
88 points
Tobacco, capsicum, honey and chilli oil - fascinating nose, I'm not sure what has happened here in the 3 years since I tried it last, but I think it is much more interesting. The sweetness is a little bit more held back and the acidity and spice are enough to do the job. Wonder if there is some bottle variation as well as the changes from some age. Drink now.
White
2016 Hart & Hunter Sémillon The Remparts Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
3 g/l residual sugar. Lemon zest and slate aromas. Acidity is a little bit tame, but there is a nice mineral streak to it. The fruit is pretty bright and gives it good approachability. Drink over the next 5 years.
White
2015 Hart & Hunter Single Vineyard Series Old Vine Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Floral, chalk and slate aromas. Clean palate, with good flow and balance. Lean and restrained feel, in the classic Hunter Semillon mold. Has potential to improve with age.
White
2016 Hart & Hunter Fiano Dr B's Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Floral, almond, lime, musk, ginger and olive. Oily mouthfeel and texture, there is good weight and balance here. Interesting wine.

White
2015 Hart & Hunter Chenin Blanc Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
88 points
Apple, lemon, straw and some subtle oak influence. The palate is very dry, with the roundness of the Chenin showing through. Feels like a good representation of the variety and I look forward to trying future vintages.
White
2015 Hart & Hunter Chardonnay 26 Rows Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Lees stirred. Marshmallow, chalk, light toast (30% new oak). The palate shows good balance of restraint and acidity. Good mouthfeel, with some richness from the fruit and the minerally acid working well together. Medium length.
Rosé
2016 Hart & Hunter Shiraz Shiraz Rosé Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
88 points
90% Shiraz, 10% Petit Verdot. Pineapple, cherry, peach and spice. A little residual sugar (3.5g/l), with the fruit quite light overall. Not bad.
Red
2014 Hart & Hunter Syrah Single Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

100% whole bunch. Earth, floral, stem, pepper and roses - light fruit, more in the savoury style. Tannins are present and with the lighter fruit weight, take centre stage a little bit. Medium length. Will get better if the tannins settle over the next few years.
Red
2015 Hart & Hunter Shiraz Fox Force Five Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
89 points
Blackcurrant, raspberry, bacon, blackberry and a touch of herb. The herb notes carry onto the palate, there is a decent amount of fruit weight here though and I feel like the balance is pretty good.

2015 Hart & Hunter Shiraz Ablington Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

Cedar, redcurrant, vanilla and graphite. Rich fruit, but plenty of acidity picks the palate up. Persists well, with fine tannins in the background. Really quite nice but the price was a little too punchy for me.
White
2015 Hart & Hunter Sémillon RS37 Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
40 g/l residual sugar, 7.5% alcohol. Apple, popcorn, honey and orange. Bright and fresh on the palate, there acidity does a good job of cleansing the sides of the mouth. Well balanced, medium length, I like it.
White - Off-dry
2016 David Hook Wines Sémillon Old Vines Belford Pothana Vineyard Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
90 points
Lemon and pine needles. Good acid component with nice fruit weight - good freshness and zing. Will benefit from ageing.
White - Off-dry
2011 David Hook Wines Sémillon Old Vines Belford Pothana Vineyard Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

Toast, orange, lemon and herb. Toasty palate, punchy acidity with good fruit restraint. Give it more time to develop further.
White
2015 David Hook Wines Pinot Grigio Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
88 points
Apple, pear, kiwi fruit and a little herb. Rounded mouthfeel, medium length. Approachable and good fruit weight.
White
2013 David Hook Wines De Novo Bianco Reserve Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges

Lemon, orange and lime. Decent acidity, clean with a touch of herb peeking through. Good enough wine.
White
2015 David Hook Wines Vermentino Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges
88 points
Pear, peppery spice and a light touch of green notes. Slightly sweet up front. Medium length. Reasonably tasty to try, but not sure I would still be interested if it came to a second glass.
Red
2015 David Hook Wines Sangiovese Orange Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges, Orange
90 points
Meat, cherry, raspberry and spice. Light red fruited style, good acidity and nice tannin grip. Well balanced overall.
Red
2014 David Hook Wines Barbera Reserve Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges

Cherry, musk and rhubarb. High in acidity, carrying across the medium length, with a little bitterness on the finish. Not bad.
Red
2014 David Hook Wines Nebbiolo Australia, New South Wales, Central Ranges
89 points
Black cherry, pepper, violets and orange peel. Has the right structural feel for Nebbiolo, the tannins and acidity both playing a strong part. The fruit retains some brightness. Seems good now, not sure about the future though.
Red
2015 David Hook Wines Shiraz Hunter Valley Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

85% Hunter, 15% Mudgee. Licorice, raspberry, chocolate and spice. Bright and fruit driven palate, with a little spice but mostly the fruit taking the spotlight. Easy drinking.

2014 David Hook Wines Shiraz Old Vines Hunter Valley Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

Florals, forest floor, darker fruit and earth. Good texture and appropriate fruit weight to go with the earthy and savoury elements. Plenty of potential to improve but the price was a bit too much for me to take one home to cellar and see.
