Welcome glass of bubbles. Consistently outstanding. So much power and energy with elegance and balance. Long finish. Creamy with delicious ripe apple.

Double blind in a flight of 08/07/06 Sauzet BBM. My favorite of the flight. Full nose of mature red apple and minerals. Concentrated and rich with good freshness. Very good, but showing fairly mature. Blind I figured this to be 5-7 years older.

Double blind in a flight of 08/07/06 Sauzet BBM. More ripe than the '08 with red apple, pear and some toast. Rich on the palate with nice balancing freshness. The finish here is elegant with mineral and seashells and almost Chablis-like. Very good, but not remarkable.

Double blind in a flight of 08/07/06 Sauzet BBM. The ripest wine of the flight. Aromatics also have more overt toasty oak. Big and rich on the palate and just a tad heavy as the acids don't carry the concentration quite as well. My least favorite of the flight, and my least favorite of the BBMs tonight (save the bottles that were PreMoxed).

In a 2000 BBM horizontal. Light gold with a spectacular nose that has so much lift, intensity and depth. Aromas of rich white fruit, toast, mineral and spice. The palate has excellent concentration and richness with taut, driving acids. Well balanced and delicious. Shows much younger than 17 years old.

2000 BBM horizontal flight. Too oxidized to enjoy for my palate.

2000 BBM horizontal flight. Oxidized ... bummer.

Ramonet BBM flight. Wow, gorgeous nose with a very clear spearmint note interwoven with mature apple. Double wow, stunning depth and concentration on the palate. Layered with excellent detailing of flavor. Mint throughout. Plenty of acids and freshness. Outstanding. My favorite BBM of the night

Tasted side-by-side with the 2002. Good in its own right, but not as thrilling as the 2002. Full nose with a myriad of aromas including spearmint, mature rich apples and mineral. The palate has good richness and concentration but the acids are starting to crack and the wine shows ever-so-slightly flat. Flavors are also more evolved with some sweet marshmallow in addition the mint and maturing white fruit.

2006 Ramonet flight. Full aromatic nose of fresh apple and peach, mineral with a slight matchstick note. Young and vibrant with rich and dense fruit. Nice almond/nut note. Similar to the BBM, if a little less evolved and detailed today.

2006 Ramonet flight. Crisp and fresh nose with just a hint of matchstick, ripe red apple and minerals. Yum, lush, concentrated and layered palate is delicious. Almonds, crisp red apple, vanillin and liquid minerals. Deep, layered finish. Outstanding.

2006 Ramonet flight. Medium-full nose is initially more closed in but opens with 15-30 minutes in the glass. Aromas of rich white fruit with mint that becomes more and more pronounced. Richer and bigger with less acid freshness than the other wines in the flight. Creamy, concentrated and enjoyable to drink. Minty notes come out in the finish.

1999 BBM flight. Golden color. Aromas are nicely spicy and musky with mature white fruit. Starting to show some oxidized notes which are a nice complement, rather than a detraction today. Impressively crisp and fresh for what is clearly a burg with age. Ethereal and the mature fruit glides across the palate. Excellent depth of flavor. Sexy, smooth, long finish. Awesome wine. My #2 WOTN of the night.

1999 BBM flight. Medium gold. Yum, sexy nose with musky spice, some rubber tire, mature white fruit and mint. On the palate this is gorgeous. Mature flavors but the fruit is intense and the acids are still fresh. Concentrated with layering. Outstanding.

A wonderful nightcap. Towering nose of mature baked apple, pear, apricot, honey. Ethereal and penetrating aromas. On the palate this has insane amounts of richness and intensity while remaining weightless. Unbelievable balance. Goes on and on. Wow.
