Introduction

Three of us made it for dinner at Demi. This was the reserve wine pairing.

Flight 1 (7 notes)

White - Sparkling
2006 Pascal Doquet Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Vertus France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
90 points
Brief note, drank a glass over 40 minutes. Mineral and apple skin nose. Strongly chalky, bold apple skin palate, sour green apples. Definitely needs food.
White
2014 Wieninger Nußberg Wiener Gemischter Satz Austria, Wien, Wiener Gemischter Satz
91 points
Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. Very interesting, a blend of some 15 varietal cofermented. You can get the Riesling characteristics, but certainly not dominant. A fun mix of tropical fruitss, apple, fusil, steely minerality, tangerine, Meyer lemon, with an every so slight oxidative edge. 91+ to 92pts.
White
2015 Matthiasson White Wine USA, California, Napa Valley
89 points
Brief note. Light crisp, very fresh, citrus, fresh grass, good acidity, has a Sauv Blanc feel, but more restraint.
Rosé
2018 A Tribute to Grace Wine Company Rosé of Grenache Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County
90 points
Ultra pale salmon color. Watermelon nose with a floral background. The palate is watermelon, lovely and understated, clean minerality. This has great fruit but not in an ostentatious way. Really comes off like it could be from Provence.
Red
2016 Qvevri Wine Cellars Saperavi Georgia, Kakheti
88 points
Brief note. Clearly old world, rustic, dark red fruit, a little herbal, medium plus body. Enjoyable.
Red
2010 Forlorn Hope Mil Amores Dewitt Vineyard USA, California, Sierra Foothills, Amador County
90 points
Brief note. 50% Touriga, 25% Temp, 25% Tinta Cao. Blackberry, a mixture of black and blue fruits, tar, spice, balanced, good mouthfeel, full bodied, well contained. 89 to 90pts.
White - Fortified
1999 Blandy's Madeira Malmsey Harvest Colheita Portugal, Madeira
86 points
Small pour. Raisin, fig, blackberry, caramel, thin, hot, high toned dried wood.
