October 16, 2022 - Very powerful and oaky, maybe a little bit to oaky for my taste. Almond, lemon and very interesting. I think this one is very drinkable now and mayby 5 more years?

September 26, 2021 - During a structured tasting. Bruised apples, yeasty. Lots of citrus fruit on the top note, not much toast. On the palate lots of power, medium finish.

This bottle needed quite a lot of air to open up. The first few glasses were quite austere, predominantly citrus fruits, underripe pears, wet stones, gunpowder, lots of chalk and some wax, but there were some predominant herbal/vegetable notes such as grass, mixed herbs, and some cardboard; later, these herbal notes dissipated and gave way to some exotic fruits such as coconut, guava, mango, even cranberries and strawberries, and some more evolved notes such as caramel, toasted bread and mixed nuts, a touch of vanilla, some young cheese, and a very delicate oxidative finish.
We’ve now tried the 2006 vintage of all of Doquet’s wines, and our opinion is the same every time: good, but it needs more time to age and fully reach its potential, which is surely high. The 2004 and 2005 vintages are comparably much more approachable and offers a lot more drink pleasure than the ‘06 right now.
