Ludes Premier Cru, 100% Chardonnay, spontaneous fermentation in oak and small cuves, élévage sur lie, unfiltered, disgorged December 2018, dosage 3 gr/l, 4340 bottles produced. Wonderfully ripe but fresh acidity, smoky and spicy, pear and lemon, warmth from the wood, palpable chalk, minerally definition, full flavoured and precise, good length.

Single vineyard Chouilly, a steep (70%) slope planted with 41 year old Chardonnay vines, spontaenous fermentation, malo according to the vintage, élévage during nine months sir lie, unfined and unfiltered, disgorged 11 October 2019 with a dosage of 4 gr/l, 879 bottles produced. Beautifully buttery and rich, rounded and ripe, bitters from the wood. rich and vinous, more power than definition, beautifully silky and flowing, long finish. 93

Magnum. Disgorged 8 February 2016, base vintage 2013, bottle no. 1193. Ruddy colour; spicy Pinot nose, honeyed red fruit; delightfully silky but minerally palate, ripe red fruit, energetic; pure and long finish. More finesse than (single) bottles with less post-disgorgement ageing.

A blend of Arbane, Chardonnay, Meunier, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc from five different vineyards in Les Riceys, Côte des Bar, on Kimmeridgian soils. Harvested 28 August 2011, fermented with indigenous yeasts, élévage sur lie, bottled 6 August 2012. After just over four years sur lattes, the 1827 bottles and 90 magnums were disgorged on 8 December 2015, with zero dosage. Vinous, hint of wood, well developed, mature, slightly monolithic, blunt finish.

An absolute joy. Floral, fragrant, silky, delicately toasty oak, open and fruity with impressive minerally energy, generous and elegant, pure and precise, finely grained tannins, very good resonance and length. Textbook. Extra point for charm.

Perfect balance between pure fruit and spicy oak, rich and elegant, seamless and silky, no heat at all on the finish, orange zest. Very different from the bottle tasted in 2014.
