Flight 1 (2 notes)

Red - Fortified
1980 Warre Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
90 points
Very dark colour, just a touch of red at the rim. Lots of body. Cocoa, fig. Mouth-coating. An umami/yeasty note. The most 'porty' of the wines tasted tonight.
Red - Fortified
1977 Fonseca Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
92 points
Lovely ruby. A bit flat on the nose. Sweet entry, grippy and firm. Spicy! Cherry finish. Concentrated and vinous.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red - Fortified
1970 Graham Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
94 points
Ruby with hints of browning. Nebbiolo-esque floral nose. Lots of dark caramel and figgy concentration. Really long. Lovely balance. Kapow!

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red - Fortified
1966 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
91 points
Restrained, a tad musty at first, some cigar box developing. Lots of strawberry. Spicy finish. Sherryesque and attenuated.
Red - Fortified
1963 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
96 points
Pale brown-tomato colour. Heady, warming, spicy nose - the spirit shows through somewhat. Mellow, sweet, but so elegant, with fine tannins. Dried fruit. Strawberry candy. Cherry and tobacco. Vivid and spicy. Ridiculously long. So much life!

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red - Fortified
1963 Graham Porto Single Harvest Tawny Portugal, Douro, Porto
94 points
Much more rancio and vanilla whisky oak on the nose. Vivid orange flavour. Starts sweet and juicy and progresses through towards a woodsier character. Toffee popcorn, ginger. So good.
