Double blind. Grassy with green apple and some earth tones takes me to Sauv Blanc. Very crisp on the palate with lots of acidity, leaner fruit with green tones. Tart finish. Shocked on reveal. Mid-to-high 80s showing.

Attractive nose with tropical white fruits and herbal layering. Acid driven palate with nice purity of fruit and a chiseled finish. Flavors are green apple and grapefruit pith. Very good now.

Double blind. Chalk and floral aromas more than any fruit in the nose. This is a very compact wine that initially shows a burst of richness then quickly fades. Not as good as a bottle from just a few months ago.

Double blind. Pleasant red cherry with good earth and spice that gains intensity with time in glass. Good richness and power to the fruit with lots of spice. Precise and nicely delineated. Lots of spice and still-chewy structure in the finish. Upside from here. My #9, Group #8.

Double blind. A wow gorgeous nose smoky, meaty black cherry that is laced with intense meat and spice. The palate is so concentrated with pure, velvety fruit. Such great textural and flavor complexity. Long finish. Drinking at peak now. My #1, Group #1.

Double blind. Earthy aromas of maturing black cherry and plum. The palate has rich chewy powerful fruit showing plenty of braised meat. Some earthy character emerging as this is showing mature. Good balance so this could continue to improve but will the fruit retain enough freshness? Disappointing upon reveal. My #6, Group #6.

Double blind. Nose has meaty dried black cherry with an attractive green pepper note and spice. Fruit is still quite silky with a candied cherry flavor. All in all though a bit simple and clipped in the finish. My thought on reveal -- a success for the vintage. My #7, Group #7.

Double blind. Very attractive nose of sexy, spicy black cherry with excellent florals. Concentrated red cherry with nice brightness. Texturally complex. Still has some structure and bite in the finish. Upside from here. My #5, Group #2.

Double blind. Exciting and alluring aromas of smoky black cherry with toasty herbs. Delicious black cherry that has sexy smoke, herb and spice complexity. Very bright and lively. My #3, Group #4 ... and upon reveal my favorite of the 04/06/07/08 Jadot Bonnes Mares bottles.

Double blind. Gorgeous, enthralling nose of sweet black cherry with loads of spice. The palate beams with concentrated cherry fruit that has precise delineation of an array of complex flavors. Young but harmonious and complete, like so many great 2010s. A thrilling wine. My #2, Group #3.

Double blind. Aromas of earthen black cherry with moderate toasty herb and what I mistakenly thought was stem (rather likely slightly under-ripe fruit). The palate has nice roundness of fruit that I noted sweet and plush, which is impressive for a 2011. Nice spice filled finish. Drinking impressively well right now. My #4, Group #5.

Double blind. Nose is very shy and shows only modest amounts of non-delineated cherry fruit. Palate is dense, big and broodingly shut down. My #8, Group #9. This is very clearly closed down at the moment - particularly relative to the good showings of the underdog 2011 and the amazing 2010.
