White
2014 Domaine des Lambrays Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
93 points
Classically styled, old school white Burgundy, made in a non-reductive style. Rounder with ripe fruit on the palate, and maybe less cut than your average 2014, but I do like the sense of balance here.
White - Sparkling
2017 Ultramarine Blanc de Blancs Keefer Ranch Sonoma Coast USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
88 points
Quite lean from the acidity, with white fruit on the nose and palate as well. The bead is a little coarse and there's some sweetness to the fruit and a bit of aldehyde that doesn't seem to mesh well with the acidity. A fairly-priced wine at the mailing list price; much less convincing if you have to pay secondary prices to get it.

White
2015 Weingut Robert Weil Kiedricher Turmberg Riesling Trocken Germany, Rheingau
90 points
Crisp and fresh with a good amount of fruit giving this the sensation of being sweeter than it is. Minerally and bright, but not too complex, and without the weight of a GG, this makes for lighter drinking.
White
2008 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs-Gain France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
90 points
Nice to see a bottle of Ente that's not overwhelmed by reduction. Very ripe and broad, with lots of sweet orchard fruit. Not as much cut as I would like for my white Burgundy; it's a bit rotund and lacking much shape. Not as good as the other bottles of this that I've had.
White
2017 Marc Colin et Fils Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chatenière Blanc France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
90 points
A very vigorous shake helped dispel a lot of the reduction here. Overall a little dilute and thin on the palate, this was missing breadth, even though it had pleasant acidity and fruit.
White
2016 Emidio Pepe Pecorino Colli Aprutini IGT Italy, Abruzzi, Colli Aprutini IGT
85 points
Not (very) volatile like many other Pepe wines. This one is a lot more normal. Still, I don't like the wooly nature here, nor the floral, mushroomy, aldehydic, and otherwise disparately odd flavours (and combinations thereof).
Rosé
2017 José Luis Ripa Sáenz de Navarrete Rioja RIPA Vino Rosado Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
88 points
The obvious comparison is to the LdH Rosado; this is a bit fresher and without the aged funk. Cleaner too. Overall a little too savoury to be consumed as a summer wine. Moderate acidity; probably would have benefitted from being a touch colder.
White
2012 Aristos Chardonnay Duquesa D'A Chile, Rapel Valley, Cachapoal Valley
flawed
Oxidized.
White
2019 Miani Bianco Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Friuli Colli Orientali
88 points
I didn't like this bottle anywhere as much as the last one that I had a scant few months ago. Likely that's a context thing more than the bottle being different. This one felt way too phenolic and heady, with some volatile elements and a bitter oiliness that was somewhat distracting.
Red
2018 Charles Lachaux Pommard Cuvée Auprès du Clos France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
90 points
This bottle got more air than last time, but truthfully, it still isn't much more than a nice wine. Pleasant red fruit in a crunchy style, with some really young tannins that are more Pommard-like than last time, likely from the air. But this doesn't have the weight for any long-term aging. Don't get the hype at all.
Red
2016 Azienda Agricola San Giuseppe Rosso di Montalcino Stella di Campalto Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino
93 points
Very lovely stuff; not as intense and deep as the actual Brunello, but this is made with lifted red fruit and lots of perfume. The palate does feel a little thin, but still has generous red fruit and a lovely vein of acidity as well. Delicious stuff; perhaps more as a hamburger wine, but that's a hard ask given the prevailing tariff.
Red
2020 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rouge France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur
83 points
Woof. Huge whiff on this one. Thin, green, and astringent. Some off chemically notes here as well. Quite unpleasant.
Red
2014 Ojai Grenache John Sebastiano Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County
88 points
Went into this with no expectations, but was on the pleasantly surprised side of things. Plummy, dark fruit with some nice earthiness, and a generally well-controlled amount of fruit here. Slightly leathery tannins.
Red
2012 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
90 points
From magnum. A nose that has typical aged pinot earthiness and mushroom notes, as well as some generously sweet, plummy fruit and maybe a hint of orange peel as well. The palate is quite rounded and large-scaled, with a plumminess that somewhat evokes merlot, but this is still pretty clearly pinot thanks to those earthy tones and a little more acidity than I expected from a California pinot noir.

White - Off-dry
1994 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
95 points
#08-95, 7.5% abv. The cork broke and smelled like TCA, but the wine itself was mercifully not corked. An absolutely brilliant, textbook showing of this wine, with the typical notes of mature Wehlener Sonnenuhr -- that dairy creaminess that is absolutely unmistakable. Great acidity, modest sweetness, and all-round ethereal elegance. I've always been a huge fan of this vintage; this bottle was no exception.

2018 Andremily Grenache USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County
80 points
Incredibly ripe and heavy wine, with a sickly sweet nose that evokes Ribena. On the palate this starts off alright, with a slick amount of black fruit, not unlike a Sine Qua Non. It's the finish that's really off-putting though (not to mention the high alcohol) -- way too much bitter oak tannin that it overwhelms the copious fruit. Not quite as bad as some other wines made in a similar style, but absolutely not my beverage of choice.
