Flight 1 (7 notes)

White
2013 Château Tronquoy-Lalande Blanc France, Bordeaux
87 points
Lean styling with plenty of citrus and good length. Eminently drinkable, while slightly simple. Approx 1/2 each Semillon and Sauv Blanc.
Red
2017 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
88 points
Bright red cherry aromas and flavors with a touch of earth on finish. Very tasty now, in its peak drinking window.
Red
2017 Serafin Père et Fils Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
90 points
Dense red and black cherry aromas and flavors with meaty notes and a firm tannic finish. Fun richness faintly emerged, but still firm and backward. Good weight, very good length. Better from 2027.

Red
2017 Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey St. Denis En la Rue de Vergy France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis
90 points
Red and black cherry with a bit of candied fruit and sweet spice. Very good concentration for its level, ending with brightness and finesse. Very good now, but this can certainly be cellared as well.
Red
2017 François Lumpp Givry 1er Cru A Vigne Rouge France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Givry 1er Cru
90 points
Red cherry with traces of roasted meat and woodsy spice. Good weight, very good balance. Drinking very well now, good for another decade+..
Red
2017 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Big and brawny for the '17 with lots here, but somewhat awkward today, even seeming nearly disjointed. I expect this will come together at some point in the future when its (very) firm center softens, but I have trouble projecting when that will be.
Red
2017 Domaine Bruno Clair Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
flawed
A controversial wine tonight. There was no discernable flaw, but this was thin and slightly stripped vs previous bottles I have tasted. I was told it was richer when first opened, making me think it faintly corked. Nonetheless, almost half the table thought this one of their favorites tonight, and I also found it certainly drinkable.
