2002 Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru

No disgorge information. Enjoyed this better than one I had earlier in the year probably because it sat in the glass longer. Oxidative, nutty and rich on the palate. Creamy and buttery as it warms up.

PnP. 2g dosage, Disgorged Oct 2021, 60% PN, 25% M, 15% C. Yeasty at first pour but blew away. Red apple, lemon, whiff of mineral, raspberry, mango. Lots of energy and tension on the palate with touch oxidative notes. Probably need to decant it for it to open up more.

Blind. Bottled May 2014, disgorged Aug 2019, dosage 3g/l. Mineral, green apple, linear acid with persistent finish. Good fruit ripeness on the palate, as it sits in the glass notes of candied apple notes emerged. Lovely bubble

Pnp. Disgorged Nov 2021. Nutty and brioche aromas. On the palate acidilty was very high leaving sour notes and wine seems disjointed. Definitely not expected from this domaine.

Coming after the 2004 Perrieres, it had similar oxidative notes but had much livelier acid with great lift at the finish. Seem to be past its prime which is surprising, 2 years ago a similar bottle was still very primary.

2016 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

Blind. Popped in the morning and left in the bottle. Pronounced notes of rose, tar, red cherry. High acid on the palate with fine tannins ending with long finish. Called out Nebbiolo and then Barbaresco due to the aromas and the lighter touch. Others were guessing Grenache but it didnt have the sweetness associated.
