WSET2 Course Notes

WineHouse, Los Angeles

Tasted October 22, 2023 - November 5, 2023 by AD_jutant with 65 views

Introduction

To structure my growing knowledge in wine and support it by some certification, I decided to enroll in WSET2 programme. In addition, I was very excited to taste dozens of wines along with the classes. I do not want to lose those notes and would like to be able to refer to them in the future. Therefore, I am putting them on CellarTracker. I hope, no one minds the dry and academically descriptive notes. If you do, I apologise. I also might be conservative on the ratings as I do not have the opportunity to spend time with the wines and truly explore them.

Closing

This was really fun and interesting. I really liked the structure WSET brings even if I know that the world of wine is way more complex than that. It was nice to try so many different wines and patch up the holes in theory and experience where I had them.

Monica Marin was a great instructor and her personal touch made the course so much more special.

Among memorable encounters are Australian Riesling and Manzanilla sherry.

I scored 98 on the final exam having made only 1 mistake. Now I have "Pass with Distinction" certificate.
