May 5, 2024 - Fresh fruit, but with a velvet mouthfeel. Long aftertaste of nuts and fruit. Ripe and a bit of sweetness.

April 28, 2024 - Spicy, peppery, manly but not as hard, as I had expected. Dark matter, tobacco, chocolate, some tannin.

January 20, 2024 - Loved this wine. Lucious, warm, ripe. Delicious and super surprising pinotage.

October 29, 2023 - WSET2 Course Notes; 10/22/2023-11/5/2023 (WineHouse, Los Angeles): Appearance: Deep ruby to garnet.
Nose: Medium+ intensity. Prune, black currant. Vulcanised rubber and warm volcanic soil (two different aromas, just happen to have the word volcano in common). Hint of coffee and smoke. Cedar wood.
Palate: Dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannin and body, high alcohol and flavour intensity. Smoke character with some very ripe red cherries. Distant chocolate. Medium+ finish.
9/10. Very good but to be honest, I expected more.

October 26, 2023 - This is a regular youngster still. According to the graph on the back label, this wine has just entered its drinking window, but I'd definitely wait another 5-10 years before cracking into them - unless your palate accustomed to young Napa Cab and the like.
Opened 8-10 hours in advance and recorked. Showed a lot of plummy, ripe fruit on the nose, a touch of oaky vanilla, and a bit of toasty barrel. The palate is fairly intense, but not overly jammy or full bodied, actually fairly composed, lots of freshness and acidity, even if there wasn't a lot of tannins.
I am so excited to open my 2015s in a few years now.
