Flight 1 (5 notes)
White - Sparkling
1996 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut
Deep yellow with an orange tint. Few remaining bubbles. A touch of apple cider and sherry on the nose. Off dry, relatively full body. Complex caramel, vanilla, and orchard fruit backed by a tremendous finish of brisk acidity and stone. Much fresher than the aromas suggested and enlivened by the 1996 structure. A great aged Champagne.
White
2020 Ceritas Chardonnay Zephyr Vineyard
Light yellow. Light reduction. Medium weight, steely, downplayed apple fruit, excellent acidity, and a moderately long, satisfying finish.
White
2014 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Blanc Les Moulins
Medium yellow. Pear scents. Medium weight, not that dense. This has rounded out nicely, tempering its youthful, sharp acidic edges. Some wood still shows. Good depth and length but not nearly as impressive as other Guiberteau bottlings.

Red
2014 Littorai Pinot Noir The Pivot Vineyard
Pale red. Brambly red fruit aromas. Delicate, light weight, beautiful, subtly sweet strawberry fruit, herbal whole cluster notes, high acidity, and a gently fading finish. Not your everyday California Pinot Noir. Excellent bottle.
Red
2005 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses
Ruby. Ripe cherry and soil. Medium weight, round and quite sappy. Open dark red fruit and earth, solid acidity, and some lingering but ripe tannin. Very enjoyable now but 10+ years of potential improvement.
