This reminded me of an extra brut, lean, mineral-driven, fruit is tart, a minimal amount of complexity.

Drank a small glass over 45 minutes. Consistent with previous note - intellectually intriguing but not particularly satisfying. There is spice and and yellow melon, along with a fair amount of acid.

Double decanted to remove sediment. I haven't had this wine for 8 years and it is right where I remember it. The nose on this is killer. The flavor profile is garrigue, earth, cherry, and it ends with some nice spice and pepper. The palate brings more earth and garrigue.

There's a lot to like in this CDP, but it is definitely on the rustic side and remains quite big in its old age.

The Pegau profile is evident, only a touch of brett on this bottle. Kirsch, garrigue, mushroom, leather and funk.

A lot of dried fruit, some tobacco, quite big.

Drank a small glass over an hour. This is a sad testament to how much cellar time Beaucastel needs, this is half-baked right now and needs 5+ years in my opinion. Floral and green right now, savory, packed with flavory, it needs to calm down although you can struggle through it.

Big and burly. When are Bandols ever ready to drink? It seems they need 20+ years.

I don't think this was decanted, and it came across as green and unyielding.
