Introduction

First time attending the group. My contributions were a corked 2002 Kistler Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard and a 2005 Paloma Merlot which rocked.

Flight 1 (16 notes)

CORKED!!!! Immediately the nose was dominated by a musty odor.
Palate still showed some fruit, but it was drowned out by the funk.
Boo!!! Super dissapointed I only had one bottle. Oh well.

This was my second offering after my CORKED 2002 Kistler Pinot Kistler Vineyard (totally lame).
Medium dark purple in the glass. Blind this came across with lots of meaty spice - everyone thought it was a California Syrah!
Beautiful blackberries, blueberries, mocha, vanilla and some soft oak on the back end.
Palate does show some nice spice but the blackberries come through full force carried by a river of dark chocolate.
Balanced finish displaying very well integrated tannins which lend in its super silky mouth feel.
Everyone really enjoyed the selection, though it's just a baby.

Rich deep extraction. Completely black opaque at the core.
Lovely black flowers actually laced with minerals blackberries and licorice.
Palate is extremely lengthly with many layers of cassis, black fruit, slate and tar.
Lovely smoked meat on the back end. Enjoyed the '05 a bit more in terms of complexity, though.
The Run Rig is one of my overall favorite Aussie Shiraz's. I believe it is worth the coin. Definitely brings the thunder.

Outstanding wine. Enjoyed from a magnum!! Keith just decided to pop and pour this gem around the table til it was gone -- and BOY was it singing!!
Incredible deep ruby color. Showing classic creme de cassis, leather, menthol and minerals. The menthol was outstanding and fresh.
The palate showed an endless array of dark cherries, raspberries and cassis. Leather, lilacs and more mehthol were also prevalent.
The finish lasted over a minute and showed perfect balance. Tannins still had plenty of life. The acidity was laser focused. This will go another decade with ease.
Fantastic experience. Thank you Keith.

Slightly dissapointed in the longevity of this CdP. Definitely a bit lean and over its prime.
Nice medium dark red berries. Dark cherries, smoked meat and other gamey scents.
Palate shows one dimensional fruit flavors but makes up for that with nice white pepper on the back end which made it unique to me.

Only got a drop or two of this from the very bottom of the bottle.
Beautiful deep rich extracted black fruit. Dark berries, scorched earth, tar and licorice dominate the nose.
The palate was super rich with a long finish. This is still a baby though.

Drink em if you got em though.

Clean pure and fresh yellow fruit and flowers.
Excellent acidity on the finish. Extraordinary effort. Young.

Kevin at Knightsbridge opened this gem in honor of his 45th birthday.
Not much life here. Very light marmalade aromas with soy sauce hoisen and light toffee.
Palate is thinning but still shows nice caramelized light red fruit flavors.
Truly unique experience. Thank you Kevin.

Huge rich extracted fruit bomb. Loved the black fruit, black pepper and super dark smoked and heavily peppered or seasoned pork.
Finish goes on for a minute showing more gamey meats, black charcoal and dark spicy raspberries.
Give this one at least five to seven years to settle down. Phew!!! Awesome juice!!

Funky Old World Burgundy. Showing tons of beautiful mushrooms and funky spicy red fruit.
Fantastic finish with smooth creamy raspberry pie on the palate. This will age effortlessly for a decade or two.

Lengthy palate with layers of dark fruit, earth and crushed rock.

A truly priceless wine experience. The Knightsbridge Crew decided to throw in on this incredibly rare gem.
Just to imagine what was occuring in France during the harvest of 1947 is difficult to comprehend. I am honored to be sipping this juice.
Gorgeous color in the glass. This could easily have been a Bordeaux from the 1980's it has held so beautifully.
Exotic truly unique aromas eminating from the glass. Tons of dark cherries, leather, crushed rock and balsamic vinegar.
Palate is expansive with more dark fruit, classic leather and earth. Very long balanced finish showing tannins that barely have a scratch on them!!
This was a viceral experience that is hard to put a score on. Thank you Knightsbridge and Kevin for this incredibly experience!
