This is another great 2009 wine from Pomerol.... The nose has fresh aromas of a fruit/vegetable stand next to a coffee house...Beautiful.... Though the tannin is fine and quite gripping at the moment (practically pulled the enamel from my teeth), it is so obvious what is underneath..... Enjoyable drinking now with decant, but it needs time to soften.

As with many 09 chateaux, Kirwan performed nicely.... 4 hour decant... drank over 3 hours.... Soft tannins, with silk complexity.... fruit is held back a bit, but it has the structure to age effortlessly for a very long time.... Nose was fresh and fruity... Overall, this is a great wine that will offer pleasure for a long time through out its aging process.

Elegant, smooth, classic La Lagune... Drinking much better than I tried 6 months ago... Beautiful wood , spice, dark cherry and licorice on the palette... with a classic nose I come to expect with this chateau. Has plenty of room to improve and is a smart purchase if you like this style.

Decanted 30 mins..... Drank over 2 hours..... could of used more air. The wine was showing abundance of fine tannins, but smooth and round. I like the texture as well as subtle flavor profiles of chocolate, dark cherry and sweet oak. I was surprised how seamless it was from front to back. Very Nice wine. Needs 5 yrs.

I bought many bottles of this wine on futures (15 bottles).... It is not a 'heavy concentrated 09 wine' but it has elegance and flavor profiles that are upfront/delicate for someone that enjoys Margaux wines... This wine works for me in a vintage that I think is worth the money (if you know what to buy)...... This wine will not close down and offer classic pleasure for a long while. buy it. Just my opinion.

I am a Bordeaux wine guy, but big respect to this California wine making..... this Shafer is a beautiful style of the California Cabernet wine......I am very impressed with this wine....... hedonistic chocolate and Cali Cab at its best..... this wine represents Stag leaps at its best. I have had all the big boys in Napa, but this is just a well made wine that represents great wine in the Napa Valley. Kudos.... and just enjoy this wine from this region in the world!!!

Bottle was not decanted long enough to enjoy fully, but what I was getting was hints of an elegant, complex wine. The texture was amazing from front to back. Someone brought this to a private tasting that I went to. Hopefully I can taste this again with proper decant.

Double decant 2 hours then back in bottle. Tight at beginning then gradually developed in the glass after 30 mins..... Re-tasted 24 hours later and the wine really open up with all the classic Pauillac nose and flavors. Lighter in style than other recent vintages but complex. Needs time but enjoyable at present with lots of air.

I bought a few bottles of this about 4 years ago and decided to try out one of my bottles....was not disappointed..... All the Pauillac tasting notes that I expect from that region. Nose of Grandma's attic (if you know what I mean) and Tobacco vanilla on the palette with dark fruit. Love the 2000 Bordeaux vintage. Look forward to my other bottles in the future. Enjoy!

Very Nice. 2 hour decant..... Toast, blueberry jam, hint of coffee.... (liquid breakfast).... beautiful nose and texture...... I'm really liking the 2008 vintage. Lot's of good (+QPR) wines to drink while waiting for the '09's.

I was hoping for a little more out of this bottle. Good St. Julien. We'll see if this develops further. Will try again in the future.

Obviously not the best vintage of PL, but I found the taste of this quite interesting....... Definite Pauillac on the nose...... Green pepper, sweet tobacco, leather on the palate with medium finish. I liked it!

Popped and poured one glass.... then put cork back on and revisited 24 hours later. This is definitely a big boy...... Pavie never disappoints me.... a little hedonistic and new world at times, but still shows its Right Bank qualities. The 2004 will reward those who hold...... will try again in a couple of years. Delicious.

Though at a young age, this wine has some good potential. I did a 4 hour decant and enjoyed what is was revealing at this stage. look forward in the future what this will offer.

After a 6 hour decant, I really enjoyed the nose. The taste was way too harsh and under developed for my taste. Hopefully some fruit will emerge in 5 years and the points will go up. I like this château, but like most classification wines of '06..... patience is a must.

NYE night.... 2 hour decant. We were drinking some Bordeaux wines before we got to this Pinot, so the flavors were very sweet. Maybe a little too sweet at the time, but this will be fantastic in 5 yrs. I will put the remaining bottles to sleep.

Really enjoyed this Pinot, after many hours of decanting..... super sweet with cherry, cola, cotton candy, earth tones, white flowers and coffee. I would recommend to let this rest for a couple years. But can be drunk now with some abundance of air.

After many hours of vigorous swirling and decanting, the oak mellowed out a bit to reveal some nice tones of dark fruit, sweet tomato and tobacco and spices on the palate. The nose was very barbecue sauce-ish (if you will) on the nose. I have a few bottles of this, so I decided to test the juice..... This will be rewarding when it comes together.

Decanted for 2 hours last night (1/2 the bottle). Nose and taste were at 90 point at that time. But revisited the next day after putting a wine preserver cork on the bottle.... What a delicious treat. Lots of dark cherry and tobacco with nice acidity. Enjoyed very much for an under $40 Pomerol. This has a few years to go, but it works with my palate now.

Lot's of muscle here. As with most LB's.... this one needs to lie down for a while. However, I do like the potential here. When it resolves itself, I think this will be very nice.

Beautiful 05 Saint Julien. Very elegant wine and definitely worth the price. 5 hour decant. This is one of those wines you put in your cellar and will be elated you own this 2005 lesser known chateau down the road. Has all the structure and finesse to last 10+ years. Drank along side an 03 Poyferre and though does not have the weight or exact flavor profile, it has the balance and bouquet to be a blockbuster (+QPR). Enjoy now with a long decant. but hold if you only have one.
