Much bigger than I expected given the improessions of others (not on cellartracker), and very thick on the mouth.

Overall, I thought it drank better on the second night, and while I appreciated it, it wouldn't be a wine I rush back for.

Now this is a merlot that could compete with the French! very silking on day one, but this build structure over the next couple of days and the wine transformed to be more 'serious'. Plenty of lead pencil and mulburry flavours.

Drink now or over the next 5-8yrs.

Looked much older than the 8yrs suggests. Not much on the nose and the palate was typically cabernet (albeit at the riper end of the range).

Overall not a bad wine but not one I'd be rushing back for. Drink now or over the next 2 years.

Absolutely glorious version of an Aussie merlot, and at the time great QPR. Textbook merlot characteristics and the wine is in a good spot right now but should drink well for another 3-5yrs.
