I have to disagree with many of the recent tasting notes on this wine as I did not find it to be at all over the hill. Tannins are fully resolved but there are still hints of primary fruit along with rich secondary characteristics.

Eucalyptus on the nose and following through on the palate along with fig, dried cherry, cedar and cigar box. Beautiful bottle of wine and went great with grilled ribeye.

Cherry, plum and a bit of smoke all set on a medium tannic frame. At $9.00 this could become the new house red.

Marvelous match with crown roast of pork. Red berries in spades with smooth polished tannins.

Boysenberry on the nose but thins out on the palate. Thin body plus big tannins equals strange.

Five years since last opening a bottle of this. Still the greatest Chilean wine I have ever enjoyed. Beautifully mature. One more bottle in the cellar.

Really long beautiful bottle of wine that is firing on all cylinders. Tobacco, dried fruit, and cedar. Full in the mouth and showing classic proportions.

Some dull sweetish fruit, but no acidity what so ever. This was so flat in the mouth that at times I wasn't sure if anything was even in my mouth. Blah Foam.

Large! The nose opened with with a meaty, savory, smokey bacon note and then initially black olive tapenade on the palate. Over time the tapenade mellowed, replaced by gobs of dark blue fruits.

Something wasn't right here. Completely muted on the nose and in the mouth. Perhaps just a touch of heat damage?

This felt overdone with oak, but beneath the wood, was a pleasant simple quaff. Again, I appreciate the fact that this is drinkable, fairly priced, and available in 375s at retail.

Perfectly good wine at a fair price and thoughtfully bottled in a 375. Great to have around when all I want is a glass of decent red.

This seemed to have finally come together quite nicely. The tanins, while still present, provide a good frame to carry the medium berry fruits, cedar, and herbs. Not mindblowing, but very satisfying indeed.

The first of 24 bottles held in the cellar, all purchased upon release from the winery. Sampled one week in advance of law school graduation party upon which the five remaining bottles from this 6-pack will be consumed. This showed very nicely. Complex earthiness and saddle leather on the nose backed by a supple mouth of cassis, tobacco, cedar, and just a touch of bell pepper. This final note is not at all off-putting, but rather adds excellent depth and complexity. Long and elegant. Drinking beautifully with many fine years in front of it. Paired beautifully with grilled ribeye.
