We had this wine with a seafood platter in a restaurant in Santander wanting a local wine and being attracted by the mix of two grape varieties we tend to enjoy, but usually independently, in wines from Galicia.
The blend turned out to be very enjoyable, a wine with some depth, well balanced acidity and fruity notes that went very well with the seafood but was also enjoyable finishing the bottle slowly on its own.

A wine reaching excellence but not quite exciting me as much as I had hoped for, given the pedigree and rankings by others. Maybe this specific bottle had spent too much time standing in the store before I bought it - the cork was rather dry and brittle. The wine we had was one I would happily drink again, but not seek out especially.

A very enjoyable red which went down quickly with dinner. Perfectly mature at this age.

A very enjoyable white wine. Tropical notes and peach on the nose. Smoothly filling the palate adding buttery flavours which persist for quite a while. A hint of bitterness at the finish, like other Iberian whites. The kind of finish that makes you try one more sip. Definitely a wine I will look out for again.

An elegant Verdejo with depth and a more of a lasting impression than the typical wine of this zone and grape variety. We liked it almost more on the second evening.

A real nice mix of grape qualities and mild barrel ageing. Still quite fresh and the remaining acidity would have surely carried it through some more years. But very drinkable and overall well balanced. A wine I will probably seek out again.

Proposed by the waiter in an Argentinian-style restaurant. My first impression was not fully convinced, but interesting, so we did not change it. With some air it clearly improved and worked well with our dinner as an enjoyable table wine. For this wine only 30% of the grapes are aged in oak. Definitely lighter and younger in taste than other wines I'm used to, but very concentrated fruit. The overall result is a charming dark fruit compote taste with a hint of sweetness followed by a medium length body and a good finish. I have wines in my cellar I like more, but this one was a pleasing experience which I would happily repeat.

A really pleasant wine to drink. Medium depth and complexity, nicely balanced. Welll-integrated tannins, but could probably evolve still for a few years more.

A pleasant wine with dark berries and plum as well as balsamic notes. Nicely filling the palate and leaving a medium to long aftertaste maybe a bit short on the deeper notes. This wine could have probably used some more time in the cellar; the tannins are smooth enough but not perfectly polished and the remaining acidity would have kept the wine sufficiently fresh for a while more. I would happily taste an older bottle on occasion.

A truly pleasant experience. Needed a little air to fully open up, but then delivered very well. First the expected smell of dark fruits and a hint of spice. Then a well.rounded impression on the palate, very well balanced between the different notes of fruit, cocoa and vanilla and wood as well as some remaining acidity avoiding blandness. An enjoyably long, pleasant aftertaste rounded off the whole experience. Definitely a wine worth to look out for.

A rather concentrated wine with the dark berry jam impression on the tongue frequently found on the peninsula. Overall, quite enjoyable if one takes into account the price level. But more objectively there is a certain lack of elegance, complexity and aftertaste to fully support that concentrated first impression. Perfectly fine for what we paid, but not reaching higher price levels.

A very decent wine which went down smoothly with our dinner. In style for Southern France on a middle point between the strength and concentration of my usual Spanish choices and more northern wines. I tend to like this and the wine did not disappoint but neither did it really leave a memorable impression.

An interesting wine from nearby Madrid. For a 6 year old Crianza I was slightly surprised by the level of concentrated tannins and a certain need for airing. Given that, it developed into a very pleasant wine to accompany a meal with red meat. Nicely filling the palate without a really outstanding impression. If I get it again – this is a small produced – I'd be tempted to try and let it mature for more years.

A really pleasant wine to drink, now perfectly mature, possibly on the tipping point age-wise. Good combination of dark fruit and mild barrique notes. Smooth, but still with character. Went down very well with a dinner based on beef.

A real charmer, with the winning mix for Ribera del Duero of dark fruit sweetness, notable, but restrained barrel notes and a long persistence. The tannins are smooth enough but could be polished by more years in the cellar. If you have some, don't hurry to drink it, even if this is 'only' a Crianza.

A very concentrated Ribera del Duero, which probably would have gained from some more time in the cellar. It served very well for the meat dish we took it with but stayed a bit coarse compared to other wines, despite having the expected dark fruit and barrique notes,. A nice wine to drink, but not outstanding.

Well drinkable wine with no major flaws but also nothing really catching my attention. Enough force to make it a Ribera del Duero, but a bit lightweight. especially in the finish.

Sold at an usual age by my local supermarket this 8-9 years old Reserva was very pleasant to drink and went down very well with a meat-based dinner. For an even higher ranking, some more depth and originality would have been required.

Nice enough wine, but the marked acidity was off-putting for at least some of us. Otherwise nothing very remarkable for flavours or sensations on the palate. The producer wants it to be "vibrant", which is mostly fulfilled, and it worked decently to accompany a meal as a refreshing drink, but this is not a wine I would explicitly seek out again.

A very enjoyable Txakoli, in which the blend of Chardonnay and Petit Courbu grapes balances the acidity which you can have in other wines of this type. It was enjoyed by everyone around the table and worked perfectly with our light dinner. Not a lot on the nose, but nicely evolving on the palate, staying always well balanced but with freshness and vibrancy to invite you for another glass.

The first impression by multiple people was "dark berry jam" with almost too much concentrated dark fruit and noticeable sweetness. But then other, more complex flavours evolved on the palate and overall one of the most popular wines we had during the holiday celebrations. I will try to get some more.

An interesting wine with a lot of complexity and depth. Not the 'typical' Spanish red wine combination of power and barrique, but something less immediately seductive, but with more nuances. Not yet fully polished, a bit 'rough around the edges', even after some airing. In my judgement still somewhat immature with potential to improve, despite being a 2018 vintage sampled in 2022.

A charmer, but with depth, ready to support the favourable first impression with serious arguments. Not subtle, but proud and strong. Better after some time open. Decanting might have improved the impression further. The nose still quite alcoholic with its 15.5 degrees showing through. On the palate a touch of sweetness from highly concentrated fruit, followed by a long-lasting impression and aftertaste. One of those wines you want more of, event though it remains a hint monochromatic compared to other very good wines.

A very interesting blend of muscat and grenache (as white wine), rather unique, at least in Spain, possibly in general. Restrained nose, considerint the muscat part. On the palate, a slight sweet touch and the typical aromas of muscat, albeit a bit muted, at the start slowly evolve into a quite long-lasting broader, dryer experience, lingering on for quite a while. It worked very well with a slightly rustic fish dish for dinner, one of those wines you sip again as it tickles your curiosity. To reach excellence, I would need maybe a bit more aromatic power to follow up on the interesting start and before the long afterglow. But a wine I definitely plan to buy again and give it more chances.

An excellent Verdejo, more restrained than the majority of wines made from this variety, but with a subtle complexity and long-lasting impression on the palate not commonly reached. A wine we very much enjoyed and which we will definitely try to obtain again.

Somewhat typical for this wine across multipe vintages: a very good to excellent wine, with very pleasant, concentrated dark fruit; good, but not outstanding complexity; and tannins that now, at an age of 5 years, could still use a bit of polishing. The bottle went down very well with some beef for dinner and we'll happily check the evolution of some more we still have in the cellar in good time.

Quite good, but not quite adding up to very good. Concentrated fruit, quite pleasing, decent tannins, not overdoing the barrique notes, but somehow not quite unfolding the way similar red wines do and not as well balanced and integrated. Nothing to complain for the price I paid, but not one I would actively look out for.

Very nice blend of Macabeo and Chardonnay, which seem to sum their strengths. Interesting nose, appetizing mix of tropical fruits, mild barrique notes and smooth, almost buttery elements. Easy to drink and enticing to have just one more glass. Clear acidity and persistent aftertaste. We enjoyed this bottle.

We had received this wine as a gift and trying to find out more about the background, I now noticed that apparently it is no longer marketed under the "nube" (cloud) label by the maker. In any case, a very drinkable wine, still with noticeable fruit and acidity ensuring a longer lifetime, but somewhat limited in complexity and, by my judgement, not prone to gain much more by staying in the cellar for more years. (Very) good, but not great.

A somewhat different wine from a typical Spanish red, with notes of ripe fruit over earthy tones. Quite smooth on first impression, medium in power. Some more time in the cellar would probably not hurt to polish the tannins. It went very well with our dinner including meat and hearty seafood dishes.

A nice, but not outstanding wine, which apparently had not yet found the optimal balance at the end of 2020. Promising nose, albeit with quite some alcohol; good fruit, but less well rounded than other vintages I've had. Maybe just a case for leaving it for more time in the cellar.

Deep, smooth wine dark fruit compote, tannins perfectly integrated at this age. It was left open for some time before the first glass, but did not seem to need decanting. Warm and round on the palate with excellent persistence. There are more complex wines, but really a very good example of what a Ribera del Duero Reserva can be.

An interesting wine, which we had received as a gift. For the most of its 13 years it had be stored under perfect conditions and there was no noticeable flaw.
The taste was very smooth, with tannins and other aromes sort of faded into the background, leaving a pleasant dark fruit compote taste as most prominent remainder, which reminded me of much younger, but less strong wines. My wife liked it a lot, for my taste it fell a bit short on complexity.
