Elegant, but lacking of the complexity of a wine of this pedigree. Complexity and overall palette voyage I expected just did not occur. Good acid & alcohol framework, but the execution of aroma and flavor disappointed. Usual bit of matchstick that was mitigated by several swirls in glass.

Oh and truly not a fan of the wax capsule. Such a toil to remove!

I wanted to try a bottle to see it’s development. Decanting with no visible sediment for anoint 30 min prior to tasting. Classic black fruits of cherry, blackberry, currant. Hints of cedar. No tertiary development quite yet, but you can almost feel it trying to poke through. Drinking well, but more time will benefit. Projecting 2-3 years to realize next stage.

Best Bourgogne Blanc I've had in recent memory. Drinking superbly right now. Beautiful slightly honeyed notes of apple/pear on the nose. Pronounced buttery notes too, which was not expected. Wonderfully integrated with enough acid to alleviate any flabbiness on the palate. Enjoyed salmon & sweet potatoes which just was a superb pairing. First wine from this producer and is now on my top lists for the future.

Phenomenal!

Paired with a cassoulet. Fantastic red fruit nose of mature strawberry and cherries. Hint of earth and violet if you breath deep. Well integrated alcohol and tannin structure. Nothing unexpected. Kept telling myself it’s got more time in it to develop, but drinking well. Sometimes hard to believe Sanetenots is in Volnay. You can taste the power this possessed still

Probably 1-2 years and will hit peak

Second bottle a year after last. The oak just did not integrate well. The smokiness of the oak was pronounced.

Abundance of red fruit on nose & palette. Simply not as complex as I hoped this would evolve to be. While a decent bottle of Bourg, I simply don't see much upside or further evolution from here. It's simple, good...but simple.

Something amiss with this. This never seemed to evolve right from the bottles I had. Can't quite explain it, but on palette it seems almost like it didn't ferment properly? There is some fruit, but the quality and lack of tannin doesn't suggest much future evolution. Acid was lower than expected as well. Definitely not PG worthy sorry to say.

Certainly drinking well. Acid & fruit are there. Tannins have integrated well.

Dominant red fruits of cherry & strawberry. Notes of cola and spice. Hint of truffle, but barely there. No typical tertiary aromas of note, so it does have some maturation left but I don't think a ton.

However, nobody should be disappointed to enjoy now.

This is a lovely bottle, but have to disagree with Mr. Meadows (first time ever) about 2026. Could use another year, but another five seems too much and while it has good fruit I don’t see that much complexity occurring. Really reminds me of a young version of a Chambolle Musigny I had recently.

Lovely nose of red fruits, red currants, baking spices, vanilla and hints of cola. Drinking well, integrated well with pretty good middle weight that disolves gently on pallate. Has a very silky aspect to it that’s hard to describe other than ‘silky’. No tertiary notes, but has some time to evolve. Probably perfect in one more year.

While drinking well, this could use another 1-2 years to develop further tertiary enjoyment. Still fruit strong with notes of vanilla, toasty orange, and mild earth. Dominant red fruit notes of cherry. Integrating well, but complexities of expectations need some time. Great potential I'm confident though.

Drinking superbly! Mature strawberry, cherry, and red notes coupled with slight earth into sois bois. Pinch of sandlewood hovers above the fruit notes. So well integrated right now. If you have I’d check out a bottle as it’s in prime window I think. Drank with a cassolet. 92pts.

What Bourgogne is supposed to be! Nose of earth, mushroom, and hints of sandalwood. Restrained yet elegant red fruits moving into a earthy (not quite sois bois) fragrance. Medium acid, med alcohol, finely integrated tannins. Matched with a coq au vin and baguette! Reminds you why you spend the time cellaring good Bourgone in the first place.

May have some time left to develop more tertiary notes, but drinking very well now.

Nice strucure and acidity. Not the floral notes or grace of a typical Volnay. Power and tannin more reminiscent of a Pommard. Massive concentration of fruit was unexpected. While drinking well could use 1-2 years cellar time to be optimal.

Drinking very well. Earthy notes layered with red fruits and herbal aspects. Not your classic tar/roses mind you but has a lovely head space with some floral notes as well.

Second bottle, this one a year later. Drinking well, still has good fruit & acid, with good alcohol integration. Deep cherry, hints of earth, and sandalwood. Sois bois/tertiary notes it is not. Actually, surprisingly a little floral (lavender & rose) on the nose for the age. While not super complex for a Grand Cru, it's no slouch either. Enjoyed it with a duck confit and paired very well. For price paid it was a very enjoyable bottle.

Drinking beautifully right now. Took 1/2 hour decant to open up fully, but is quite lovely. Cherry, baked earth, leather, burnt orange peel. All your faves! Has a good life to go but really showing well at this stage.

Fruits of cherry and cranberry on the nose. Hint's of earth moving into sois bois territory but not quite there. Very subtle dried flower notes above rim of the glass. Med acid with well integrated alcohol and flavors on the palate. Thanksgiving wine pairing very well. Definitely in drinking window but could age as well.

Wildly disappointed. May be in a dumb phase but the promise of this bottle failed. Fruit is very dull without any tertiary benefits. Thought if anything I was opening a bit early based on BH projections but this may be past. Will try other another bottle in a few months to gauge any further comments.

Basic nose of red fruits. Strawberry leading the pack. Occasionally hints if violet would peer through. Integrated well if not complex. Not exciting but met its objective.

Drinking superbly! Very perfumed nose of lavender mixed with sandalwood and dark fruits. Hint's of sois bois. Medium acid and palette of dark cherry, prune, mushroom, and other matured fruits.

Harmonious integration and was a absolute pleasure. If you have a bottle seriously consider drinking now!

Star of the night. Beat out a '08 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru. Very nice nose of floral and strawberry fruit against a slight earth note in the background.

'Pretty' is the best descriptor for the nose. Strawberry, cranberry, cherry rounded out the palette. Solid minerality with perfect acidic structure.

Very nice bottle and drinking so very well!

Drinking superbly. Dusty nose of dried roses, mature red fruits, and leather. Slight earthy nose, but not what I'd call tar. Fruit is holding well and tannins are completely integrated. Has a few more years in it, but don't think too much more bottle aging will change much IMO.

One of two bottles. Dark fruits and spice dominated. No hints of sois bois yet. Acid is a solid medium and tannins have definitely integrated well. Giving my other bottle another year to see if tertiary notes develop. All in all quite nice, if not grand cru excitement one may expect.

Black fruit and earth aromas dominate. Bigger than traditional Brunello. Not typical sour cherry or leather markers at all. First 2010 I’ve had, so may be indicative of vintage. Acid, alcohol, and tannins well integrated. Long finish and can only get better with some age. Try again in ‘19.

Nose of mature cherry and strawberry. Hints of earth and truffle, but not what I call sois bois just yet. Subtle but persistent floral notes of rose. Pallate well integrated with medium acid and alcohol. Smooth silky tannins. Long finish with cherry notes lingering above others. Not very complex, but pretty good for village tier Bourgogne. Two more bottles in cellar. I’ll give one 6 months and then the other a year to see if more tertiary development occurs.

Only bottle I have from this producer. Thought this was drinking quite well at the moment. Predominately fruit aromas. Cherry and strawberry, but you can see them starting to fade to the back with some other notes of spice and sandalwood.

Probably will develop a bit more, but still enjoyed it. Not much tertiary notes, but just drinking well and very enjoyable. Not every bottle has to be mushrooms and wet leaves, no?

Classic aged Bourgogne notes. Some muted dark fruits, hints of lavender (very subtle), and earthy notes. Not quite sois bois, but heading there. Good structure. Acid and alcohol very well integrated.

Drinking well and I'm not sure this one will develop too much further. Paired with duck made by a friend. Very good wine, but wasn't floored by it for a Grand Cru.

Cherry & strawberry fruit on the nose with hints of lavender. Kind of closed off really. Expected more of a nose. On the palate nothing unexpected. Red fruits mentioned before, med acid, low tannin, well integrated alcohol, can't remember ABV but tasted like 12/12.5%.

It had a nice soft Volnay attitude with minerality (yea I know this word is under fire as of late...not scientific proof..I get it...still works as descriptor though). Just wish the nose was more aromatic. Paired with duck confit and a wild mushroom risotto.

Wow. Lots of vanilla! American oak? Have to look it up.

Ripe black fruits of cherry and blackberry. A touch or iron on the nose as well. Same fruits on palmate. Medium acid and tannin. Med alcohol. Complex on the finish. Very well integrated and drinking nicely. Well worth the price. Superb Priorat!

Great Bourgogne for price point. Red fruits, spice, lavender meet medium acid, alcohol, and fine tannin structure. Drinking wonderfully right now.

One of the more puzzling bottles ive had recently. Nice wine, great structure, black cherry, currant, plum, cranberry notes. Hints of rosebush on the nose. 2012 Oregon....but just too simple. Not enough layers. Reminded me of a good Côte de Nuit Village.

Maybe needs more time in bottle, but not sure if this will evolve to meet expectations of 2012 Oregon. Hope I'm wrong because I love this winery. Possibly cuvees from here with higher pedigree fair better.

Lots of BlackBerry on the nose. Hints of black pepper and cured meats on the nose as well this could definitely use a few more years in the cellar. Very inky wine and very extracted. Tannins are still powerful. The acids are medium plus and alcohol is well integrated at this time. Try again in 2 to 3 years time.

This was given to me as a 40th birthday present. It was absolutely amazing! Drank over about 2 weeks. Amazing acidity, hazelnut notes, baking spices, and hints of caramel on the nose. The palate mimicked the nose with added vanilla and other baking spices. Not cloying at all. Matched with some almond cookies, but was just as good on it's own. Super Tawny is the best phrase for this wonderfully aged gem.
