4/25/24, 5:38 AM - had the joly in the middle of the dinner with a swiss chard based soup and progressed through: nv lambert cremant, 2019 vacheron romains, 2015 rougeard saumur, 2012 crochet cuvée prestige, and 2009 huet moelleux haut-lieu
2/19/24, 9:52 PM - i'd encourage that this is ready to enjoy. i planned to wait longer based on reports leading me to believe agrapart leaned into the sharper side of champagne, but after tasting this bottle i think delicate is the more apt descriptor. georges laval and vincent couche would be somewhere in the ballpark.
2/8/24, 6:01 PM - I drank a 2010 bottle recently and it was still fresh and singing. These are so pleasurable in their youth yet age incredibly well for such light and elegant wines. Occhipinti for president!
7/6/23, 11:07 PM - stumbled across this tonight, and couldn't agree more. whatever a wine is, it just CAN'T be boring!
3/22/23, 4:54 AM - haven't tried with the 2004 vintage, but this wine has paired wonderfully with ajo blanco for us in the past
11/10/22, 6:50 PM - regarding the value- i used to buy this for half the current price and had a hard time stomaching the rising costs. but i have still been drinking the 2010 and 2014 vintages recently and they are still cracking without downturn in sight. a wine i always thought of as a "drink young" is standing up still, and my impression is always great tasting and easy to crush. sooo....afer a few years of sulking i've come around to realizing it's well worth the price!
11/28/21, 6:48 AM - haha not the first person who's said that to me! his style leans more to mineral and finesse, and my palate is evolving that way lately. my favorite champagnes historically have been more toward the rich fruit and aged coffee notes, but with more experience i'm finding different places for different styles
3/17/21, 8:28 AM - cool thanks!
3/19/19, 11:35 AM - the jean luc was a great pleasure as well. definitely a more feminine approach, with more florals on the nose and a palate that was lighter and strongly mineral. the jean luc is ready to drink now while i felt the jean paul will be at it's best in a few more years.
11/7/17, 6:23 PM - i tried this not so long ago and tend to agree with the other comments. my note is in the thread here somewhere, but i got notes like stainless steel, ash, and smoke among a myriad of others. it definitely demonstrates a harshness that seems unique to both the grape and the terroir.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
