Concentrated, meaty with a pleasant lick of strawberry at the now-resolved finish. Classy.

Fine, well structured. Strong vanilla note on nose detracts.

Floral and some salinity on the nose, grapefruit and alittle cream to a long taut finish. Beautiful.

Excellent concentration here, fuzzy spicy fruit, muddy almost but in a good way, and firm but resolved tannins. Superlative for Bourgogne level.

End of a 3 year dalliance with Ravaut's 2017 and while the previous showing was flat, this is superb - savoury and long. So unlike the 2018s. Chapeau for the journey, best valued Burgundy of the last 5 years.

Fully mature, dark, meaty, truffly and dry, but retaining good freshness. Could go on years. Really very good. Add duck for full effect.

Much better than the last showing, leaner, fresher, more like the 2017. Pound for pound excellence

Well balance, on the sweeter side even for 8%, but nice line of orange zest acididy. Hint of ginger and honey in the sweetness. A fragrant soft pillow

The purity of fruit here is sensational for the price. Fresh, fragrant, juicy, and good grip. As expected from 2019 it comes in at 14%, a level that's arguably too hot, from but feels degrees lower thankfully. Much better than the Bourgogne (unlike 2017). As noted by others, really rather thrilling.

Light as a feather. A lime pith kiss with grip and length. Just great.

PS: Great note below from Dale M below - rain water with citrus and gravel. I'd say Evian ;-)

This is really great, and for no money. Saline, lemon citrus, creamy, with a hint of white stone fruit. But what steals it is the fabulous mid-palatte texture it presents at this level. Better than any Maconnais I've had last 12 mths, or indeed entry level Bourgogne.

Inky sweet blackcurrant and good tight structure. Like most Burgaud wines I've had there's a hint of bubble gum from carbonic maceration, though less than previous. I drink Beaujolais when I can't afford Burgundy, and while some, particularly in 2021, are more than a match at Bourgogne level, this is almost old school cru beuj. Decent.

I'm scoring this so highly because this presents the real essence of left-bank claret at an unbelievably low price. Cedar, mint, rich and tannic. Very gluggable and a steal.

Stellar complexity. Burnt orange, nuts, and trans-Siberian length. Better as anything when paired with a ripe Stichelton or Colsten Basset. A 30 year old masterpiece at under £30? Extraordinary really.

End of journey, which I took too young and impatiently. Of course a few more years would bring out the best of this, but every bottle has been a joy, with this final bottle at the apex. Pebble smooth, mint, pencil lead, long finish. Classic claret.

Final bottle. A little cooked plum element has appeared, but the rest remains: perfume, savoury fruit, and structure. Sad to see the end of this case. The 2018 has generally shown too much fruit, here's hoping the light racy purity returns...
