2012 Dr Burklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Riesling

Lys gylden gul. Finfin. 90p.

2012 Domaine Denis Bachelet Côte de Nuits Villages

Red purple medium dark. Clear and clean. Fallen berries, strawberries and red fruits, gentle tones with slight green overcast. Hints of mint, a kind of toothpaste-like sharpness (good way). Dark spices, with a forest feel. It has a soil / moss layer on the nose. It has the fruit, but earth tones are long lasting. Dropping some after 2hours of air. With air also comes a rose-like and floral aroma that raises it. It opens cool, fruity and concentrated. Nice balance and structure. I like the acid / sweetness level. A little green dominated. Grapestones. Playing on soft shades. No big fancy layers her, no hidden secrets. Complexity absent, but still good, easy and delicate.

Deep dark red, clean and crisp. Dark spices, forest ground aromas, dark cooking/baking-chocolate, wet autumn leaves on nose. On the palet, hints of dark chocolate and tar. Licorice. Acidic and fruity entrance, balanced. Red currants. Soft and integrated tannins. Crowberries-like finish. 89p.

2011 Georg Mosbacher Deidesheimer Kieselberg Riesling Großes Gewächs

Pop and Poor.

Classic medium light yellow color. Straw.
Sweet soft peach on nose, with minerality/rock like aromas, pleasant and delicate. Some greens and rose/flowers. Nose is descrete.
The palete follows nose, soft and rounded. Wonderfully balanced and delicate sweetness rolls around. Peach, orange/sitrus fruits. Crisp mineralic mid section that ends in a nice bitter sweet after tast. Long.
This hits me right at the sweet spot with my love for German riesling, and the acidity, sweetness and minerality balance in this wine is stunning. Loveing it!

2001 Armand Rousseau Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Clos De Ruchottes

Decanted, servering temp 16 celsius.
Aired for 2 hours prior to tasting.

Medium minus dark rubi red. Touch of ageing color on the rim. Clear and clean color.

Wonderfull rich nose. Smoke/tobaco, dark truffles, mushrooms and wet forest floot. Ripe fruits, cherries. Strawberries? Spices and herbs. It has this sweet/sauor like aroma, with salt and cold greens lying in the far back. The typ I can smell and smell, and still find something. Layers and layers.

Mouth is supricingly rounded and mild. Tannins are fine tuned and integrated. Feels balanced and has perfect mix of acidity and sweetnes. Easy to drink, yet komplex and with a punch of solid craftmanship. Ripe cherries and fresh primary fruits. Oh yeah. More of this please!

The nose are more open and rich om 18-20 degrees celsius.
A lovely bottle. A full bodied wine, with the depth and feel one whould aspect from a quality produser. Still I tryed to drink this uncolored of the fact that it is a Rousseau.

Decantet. First glas right away.

Deep dark red color, towards black in senter. Clear and clean.

Nose aromas show dark berries, smoke and tart. Cherries. Vanilla? Wood and smoke from the fireplace. Ashtray. Dark spices.

Stunning smooth on the palet, rounded and full bodied. Beef, tart and smoth integrated tannins.
This wine is mouthwatering. It wonderfully well balanced and has loads of layeras. Komplex and ritch in tast. Long.

After 3-4 hours this shows a great open sweetnes, with ripe fruits and berries. Over all ripe cherries and dark spices.

2001 Marc Morey & Flis Chassagne Montrachet Cru Les Vergers

Deep golden yellow. Almost to dark in my eyes, but still clear and clean in colors.
At first I was disapointed at start. When opend, it was flat, with no respons on aromas. And almost felt dead on the palet. I thought maybe heat during storing, or even oxidation.
Then 5-6 hours later it seriously opens..

The nose aromas are round and sweet. Ripe pears, honney, butter, some flovers.
On taste a bit of wooden feel and acidic, but still fruity and with a well balanced sweetness. I sence the quality, all though I dont see the full picture on this bottle.

I will try my second bottle soon. Just cause im not sure about the aromas and palet here. But I seriously think that I have experienced a weeker bottle. But also a combination of the bottle beeing served to cold.

A bitter sweet aftertaste. Long. Medium minus dry. Very rounded and balanced. Cotton like feel in mouth, creamy, wonderfull!

Light bright yellow, pale green tinge? Clear and clean. Peach, lime, lemonfruit, orangepeel - orange / clementine.
Lime and citrus fruit dominates the palet, but in a surprisingly nice way. Sweetness is backed up by acidity and minerality that balances it all.
Fine medium long mineral / acidic aftertaste. No big surprises, but elegant, simple, tight and structured. Citrus and acidity stays trew the tastepicture, but with style. Refreshing. Abslolutly worth a visit. Looking forward to follow its storing capability. But id say 3-5 years now.

New acquaintance for me. Apparently from 4 years old GG`s (Pechstein).

Classic appearance, straw / light yellow. Crisp and clean. Peaches, cantaloupe. White flowers, some green, light sweet/sour nose. The palet shows sour green apples, lime and citrus. Nice minerality.
Balanced acidity and sweetness level. Youthful. Some years lying does not hurt this one. Fresh and appealing riesling that despite the simplicity balances on the correct side of the line. Love it!

2008 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cuvée Duvault-Blochet

Medium bright red in color, with a tone / hint of brown / aging edge. Clear.
Wonderfull nose, herb garden, gentle modest spices, soft sour red berries and an underlying tone of summer fresh sweetness, I can not stop to smell.
With a little time, a hint of forest floor, spring forest and wood.
A bit like the wines we had earlier witch you can not take away from the nose.
Nice fresh fruit, sour raspberry rolls through your mouth. Mild spices. Round fine tannins bites well at the end. Balanced, fit and medium complexity, medium deep.
It is certainly an enchanting wine, providing plenty of fruit, good varied tastes, exciting, with trilling corners in the taste picture. One should perhaps not use "but" in these cases, but I have to mention that it feels a little lighter than some of the ohter DRC I have tasted. One can feel a "great / super" burgundy in the glass, all though not taking it all the way to heaven, still very very close. This is like hammering through delicious meter-deep Norwegian westcoast powdersnow a cold january day, drop a 10m cliff, landing it as if it were no stress. And then you think back on the previous season, remembering the day when it was 10cm more snow, light as in Alaska and flying a little bit longer. This is still great.

Eye: Light, bright yellow. Crisp and clean. 5.
Nose: Medium, floral, fresh fruity nose, siturs, honey, lime and orange. Light oak. 13.
Mouth: Nice entrance, fruity, initially cantaloupe, then grapefruit, citrus, and something faintly bitter in last verse. Light oak recognized too. 15.
Total: Balanced but possible one tiny notch too far over towards the sour. Feels elegant. With air, peaches and apricots. The acid level feels milder, but can also be the result of the palate has become familiar with the taste. Possibly served somewhat cold (9 degrees). This may well be served at 12 degrees I think. 7.

EYE: Rusty brown clean, crystal clear color. Centre powerful red, while clearly aging brownish wide border. Brink is wide and light brown. 5.

NOSE: Weak nose at first, which opens slightly by air in glass. But characterized by reductive tones. Windfallen, brown peeled apple pieces, plums from the ground. In all old fruit and sweetness in the kind of fruit. As a result, tend towards sweetness of honey, raisins and sweet spices. On one side tempting, but in this case "over the top". With air I think also that it gets somewhat unsightly alcohol stings on nose. 6.

MOUTH: There are actually some fruit to track on mouthfeel. But extremely / very little. Essentially the wine emerges most slightly acidic sweet, and completely lack of depth. There is little to no tannins to track. A short iring in the mid / sides, bitter sweet and sour. 9.

EYE: Intense cherry red, medium dark. Clean and clear as glass. 5

NOSE: Weak sharp edged nose that softens as the temperature rises. Light spices, dark berries and sweetfull fruits. Hints of chocolate? Appealing. 11

MOUTH: The wine appears rounder in taste than the smell. Nice and simple depth. Spicegraden. Integrated but marked tannins, which bites of towards the end. Freshness and acidity works well together, but is perhaps a bit more angular than I like. Clear good fruit. Medium length towards short taste-picture. Sour summer berries, raspberries, strawberries (currants?). Caught up "berries yogurt" from one another note (CT) and thats bull's eye on taste. The flavor of yougurt mixed with wild berries are evident in this I think. 13

Overall aroma picture on this wine a pleasure. But I might not share the great excitement that some have. The wine was drunk over a few hours, and I think it lost it along the way. Acid and sourness was a too obvious part of the taste picture I think. 6.

2006 Domaine G. Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras

The cork broke while opening due to negligence on my part. Maybe I got eager when the children were placed in bed and my wife nodded when I asked for permission to pop a wine.

Moist cork 1/3 through, but the cork still seemed nice and tight.

Medium dark red. Clear and fine in color.
About same color as the junglebase in the 2008 version of the sophisticated Rambo movie I am watching right now.

In the beginning, somewhat musty smell. But eventually I feel gorgeous shades of dark fruits and berries. Decanted the wine after a few glasses. A good call.

Smell and taste follows each other. Nice and balanced. Great pinot and ripe red fruit on the palate. Great sweetness at first, followed by integrated tannins and a modest minerality.

Maybe a little narrower than I had expected from a Roumier. However, this can be vintage? Seeing that the notes on CT varies on the 2006 vintage. However, this is a superb wine. Its direct, well made and impressive in my opinion. And it gets bigger and bigger, as the hours go. I am glad I popped this. Do not think there is much more to be gained in this vintage by storage. At the top, maybe even a little over? Or, who knows... Maybe it will blossom with a few more years?

Classic deep golden yellow color, crystal clear. Light hints of plums and orange peel. Clear crisp oak, and associations with cognac. Very sharp edges, with clear Tanin. Restless and complex. I can not quite hang of this. Not quite what I expected of a Chablis. Very surprised oak marked on this Chablis. It is unfiltered and is said to be produced by a very very honored / conservative winemaker. It feels young. And I have a certain belief in storage, but not sure.

After a conversation with the wine club so we agreed that this had to be oxidized. I tried therefore bottle number 2.

Noob that I am, I scored it like this 50-5-9-13-8 (85)
However, there is increasing knowledge in makeing fools of yourselves ...

With that said, the wine was still good in my eyes. The bottle was emptied. But it is clear that the bottle did not have the style it should.

The second bottle:

2011 Alice et Olivier De Moor Chablis Bel Air and Clardy

Classic deep golden yellow color, crystal clear. Believe previous bottle had a slight brown / yellow tone, this has hardly. In this way I have been unclear in my previous note (5). Plums, summer fruits and slight hint of organge. Fresh, soft comfortable. This bottle has not the over-oaked nose. The previous bottle must have been oxidized I thinke (11). Soft start in the mouth, round and fresh, with citrus and soft plums. Controlled and balanced tannins. (13) This is a whole new experience compared to the first bottle. And I can not help but conclude that this is like different wines in the same package. Upon opening, I noticed again the cap of this and last were very porous and weak when opening. Even with caution. Perhaps the bad caps are the cause oxidation? I have a belief in storage. But will the cap hold? Now that I know the real flavor, I would have moderated my score last time. (8).

Dark golden yellow, clear. Medium bubbles, small. Fallen fruits, honey and reductive notes (12). Nice balance between acidity and sweetness. The bubbles fills the mouth and decreases nicely with fading of tannins. Bites perfectly. Round and nice. A little oak. Fine minerality. Breadbaking and dough in the background. The wine is made with the so-called Solera method. Where, in this wine,14 vintages are mixed in the same barrel. Wine is constantly taken out of the content, so that the oldest vintages disappears from the barrel with time. This was bottled in 2009, with vintages from 1986 and newer. Strikes me as mature and balanced. A bottle that I have to try again one day.

Unclear and somewhat murky looks. Typical Echezeaux? Echezeaux 98 is my first DRC. It is the second time I drink this vintage.
Spices and tobacco. In the background something unknown. Tomato juice. Very powerful and distinctive nose.
Ritch of tannins, spice, pepper, fruit and sweetness. This is a great wine, but... Powerful and concentrated. I would have loved to know what I had said if it were blindly tested as last time, and would have liked to have writen notes the first time, but didnt.
Drunk parallel with Rousseau Chambertin 04, and this was minor compared to it. This was experienced also on previous tasting when we parallel drank the Chambertin 01 and 98 Echezeaux. I honestly think I wont aim for another Echezeaux after this, but who knows, 98 isnt known to be the best vintage is it...

Big expencive wine that underscores. I truly belive that there are greater wines out there with a more apeeling price and taste.

Seeing that many people have bad experiences with the 04, but I'm not there. This was a fantastic bottle.
Novice that I am, I found it difficult to score this. But I try anyway:

2004 Joh. Jos. Prum Riesling Spätlese Wehlener Sonneruhr

(A little moisture penetration of the cap edge. Good foil, and fill level good.)

Light yellow, with touches of green plug (5).
Clearly Petrolium mark on nose at start. Disappears with some air. Fruit and sweet on the nose (12). Fresh acid and lime / lime peel. Light tingling on the tongue. Lovely balanced sweetness and fruitiness. Mineralitet. Long flavor. Honney. (15) Drank this parallel with the 2011 Riesling Auslese Wehlener Sonneruhr. Much of the same qualities but liked better the balanced between sweet and acidity in the Spätlese. An absolute pleasure. This is in its prime, if I'm going to guess (8).

2010 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Großes Gewächs

Straw colored and clear (and sexy quote friend Arild) (5).
Fresh and sweet. Honey with peaches / apricots in the background. Sea and ocean also comes through (13)
Soft fizz on the tongue in start, balanced sweetness and acidity. Lemon and lime, honey and pineapple. Powerful acidic without being too much. Well balanced with lovely sweetness (18).
Intense flavor picture. There is an incredible amount of taste. This is perhaps my best riesling I have had so far. It literally raging in the glass with flavors. A wine that stands up incredibly well in the glass, which opens with time. I am stunned and want more! (8).

2010 S.A. Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Grosses Gewächs Alte Reben

Deep straw yellow, clear and nice (5)
Lovely soft mineral and lightly sweet fruit. Honey and elegant citrus (12)
Gentle titillation on the tongue, minerality and nicely balanced sweetness. Fruity. Acidic end, Black Pepper mentioned in other notes, and I can recognize it in the final taste picture. It has a velvety and buttery touch to the flavor (15).
A surprisingly good wine. My style of balasne between acidity and sweetness. Not too sweet, not too acidic. Actually I think this approach the ideal point of the drinking window. Can not really see what it will fetch in storage anymore, but time will show (7).

2012 Georg Mosbacher Pechstein GG (Forst Riesling Trocken)

Bright, straw yellow. Clear. (5) Fresh citrus, lime. A touch of peach-like sweetness of smell. Fresh cut green apples (13). Citrus acid, orangepeel and sharpness characterizes taste picture. There are sweetness and fruit in the background. But this is overshadowed by acidic and sharpness. Feel tanins in the end, but the main image is acidity. Then (suprice after 2 hours): Pear and apple shines after much air. Turns out to be a very very delicate and balanced wine after a few hours of air (16). Was close to condemn this (norwegian saying; north and down) because of the overall acidity. The taste picture was so overshadowed by acid and sharpness at the start that there was little else to tell. After 2 hours of air the wine is open, balanced and very delicate. The balance between sweetness, acidity and mineralitet witnesses of good wine craftsmanship. Still young, and I think (without knowing) that this will blossom with 5-10 years in the darks of my cellar. Realy glad I have more bottles of this down there (8).

2008 Nikolaihof Vom Stein Riesling Federspiel Wachau (Austria)

“Light” brownish yellow and inviting crystal clear color. Pleasantly fresh and sweet nose. Peaches and ripe pears. It is a delicious sweet nose here, which I did not quite manage to put my finger on. However, I am thinking mature oranges. Stunning entrance, had to redo it several times, hehe. Beautiful minerals. Balanced sweetness and bitterness. Here are oranges, red melon and peach tendencies, without being sweet and sticky. The flavors follows along for a long time, fine and soft. Round fine tannins, which tickles elegantly in the end. The finish is complex, while it is mild and pleasant. Have seen others (CT) notes on this wine that appealed powerful tannins (pucker factor), but I find it not so. This is balanced and elegant. This again is perhaps one of my better rieslings so far. Various vintage tables for 2008, among others a vinmonopolet says that 08 should have been a good vintage in Austria (8 of 10 score), which I definitely believe.
This is one of the first bottles I bought in terms of collection. I've had them lying in 3-4 years time now. And I have only one left. Would have liked to have more. I think this is perfectly within its drinking window now. Noting for own learning: to buy a minimum of 4 bottles :) or more of the same wine in the future.

Pale yellow with slight green prickly. Glass clear and clean apperance. (5). Lovely gentle young and fresh fruit. Decreasing nose after a while (13). Comfortable soft front that gradually opens into a lovely fruitiness and minerality. Here are fresh apples, citrus, and a very weak but nice sweetness (15). One of the better Chablis I've had. Especially like the balance. Controlled tannins that kick a little in the end. Something I really like. The freshness and sweetness interacting beautifully. Complex flavor picture, much here I did not quite manage to put into words. A wine that certainly should be tried on a Uteliggerne tasting :) (9). 92 Points.

Deep dark ruby red. Almost black / red. (5). The dark appearance is reflected in odor. Smoke and tar. Complex and spice, cherry? (12). Powerful entrance. Tannins kicking, but it is controlled. At first taste I was surprised of the tannin content, but after some time wine seems controlled and balanced. It feels young and fruity(15). There is a lot of layers, but I am sure that this requires a lot of air to flourish. But it is also obvious that this wine has high quality and potential. Feels like it will handle 10+ years in the cellar well (8). 90 Points.

Classic light yellow, glas clear (5). Vanilla and fruits. Soft sweetness and delicately fruity with a bit of sharpness on nose. Soft peach? (13). Round and soft entrance with fruits and minerals. Nice balance between sweetness and dryness with grapefruit like sharpening finish (16). A great wine with big potential in my eyes. Good now, and definitely good in another 5-10 years of rest I think with out having a clue (8). 92 Point.

Ps. My first english tasting note.

2008 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses:
(Første glass).
Dyp gyllen gul, glassklar og innbydende (5). Fyldig, frisk og søtlig sommer-aroma. Lyse nysprungne sommerblomster. Duft av fersken og modne pærer (11). Nydelig inngang i munnen.
Poeng 89.
Serverings temp 9-10 grader. Glass Zalto Burgundy.
