Drank on Christmas eve. Didn't have much notes. Opened it up and it was approachable from the start. ripe red fruits with mushroom, forest floor notes. consistent notes on the palate, decent amount of fruits and acidity, clean finish. a classic wine that should age effortlessly for another two decades.

    1/4/19, 4:59 PM - Hi @WineGuyDelMar,

I definitely would open this 05 Malescot bottle again. It was very approachable from very beginning. I think it is already in the prime drinking window where tertiary notes have been developed and tannin is softened.

It is ruby in the core and a bit brick-ish in the rim. Smells amazingly with black currant, raisin, coconut, cigar box and dark chocolate. Very full bodied, smooth. 20-30s finish. A well polished Aussie Shiraz that I cannot find any flaw in it and it is in the prime drinking window.

10/21/14, 11:09 AM - @bkwine58. I didn't decent my wine. I started almost right away because it was wide open after 10 mins and finished 4/5 of the bottle by the first two hours. I tried the left-over 1/5 the next day, refrigerate stored. Both the structure and aroma faded away significantly so I can see issue you were having.

A delicious Tuscan Sangiovese by Fontodi. This is a wine you can chew on with concentrated black jammy fruit.
