This is the Paulliac I was hoping for. I bought 14 more from this evening. Opened and decanted for three hours and it continued to improve.

Ok. I thought it would be a great bottle of wine but it was better than I anticipated. So many times expensive wine does not live up to expectations but we pretend it does so we don't feel stupid for spending so much money.

Margaux was the best wine I have had yet. Better than Haut Brion (but similar) and incredible in every way.

It may have been from bottle shock but this was a dead wine. No taste, no flavor and devoid of redeeming qualities. I bought a case for gifts and I am a bit dismayed. I hope they settle down and become more flavorful before my recipients open these bottles..

Cos D'estournel has become one of my favorite wines. I started in St Estephe with Chateau Meyney, which became a full fledge Bordeaux passion within a few months. Cos is velvety and rich without being overbearing in any way. Chocolate, black pepper, currant is what I remember.

I have tried Cos from 1995, 1996 and now 2005 and each time there was a distinctive moment of YES! This is why I love wine.

I loved this bottle. As a novice I can't describe the esoteric details of this wine but I will say it had a nice long finish, smooth feel and complex flavour. I decanted an hour before digging in and enjoyed the bottle over several hours. I tried it slightly chilled (I thought it reduced the flavour) as well as aerated (did not improve) but mostly decanted at room temperature after pulling it from the cooler. Highly recommended if you want something that is easy drinking and very tasty!

immediately fragrant, complex, light on the palate, a joy to smell and taste. the bottle lasted a little over an hour as it was too delicious to keep for any amount of time.

at first i thought this was a tinny unimpressive bottle. i recently tasted the 2000 at a wine auction and thought it was fuller and had more character. the cork and storage were fine but like most bordeaux wines i have tried it took several hours to reveal its true character. it remained thin with alcohol as its most notable flavour but had enough going for it to continue. will not purchase again.
