What a beautiful and delicate nose! Upon tasting I thought I may have been drinking a Chardonnay but not so. Strictly Sicilian varietals and no oak aging. The wines from this producer are outstanding, especially the Red, San Lorenzo designation.
Warning....The cork in this bottle was packed as tight as I have ever encountered and actually broke the bottle removing it. Perhaps that is why the wine was so fresh?

One dimensional light cherry. Expected more.

I love Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noirs. Was very disappointed, however, in the Chard. One dimensional and the oak was off. Expected more!

Every so often I go through my cellar and pull out the wines that are well past their drinking window, as per CellarTracker. Generally the drinking windows are accurate and I wind up dumping the wine. Often, the corks haven't held up well and the wine is poured down the drain. Expected the same from the contents of this bottle. To my surprise the cork came out whole and to my shock there was none to little oxidation! Perhaps a little cloudiness. Nice nose and tasted as if this was a 2018 Chard. Considering my wines aren't perfectly stored in my basement this was a more than pleasant surprise and the Chard will be drunk this evening. I have always thought that Wiemer was the best NY State winery and now there is no doubt, whatsoever!

I believe this Bordeaux blend to be the best produced wine in New Jersey. Fully integrated and medium length on the finish. If tasted blind would not have imagined NJ

One of the best Pinots I've had this year. Fresh and vibrant. Cherry and other fruits. Decent finish. Very impressive!

Much lighten than much of the Rose on the market. Beautiful color, refreshing with good minerality. Go to summer wine.

Had this for lunch with clients and was big hit! The nose was pine forest after a rain and it jumped out of the glass. Lots of wonderful earthy spices on the palate with a medium to semi-long finish. A wonderful effort and value!

Thought I missed the boat on this one but was still perfectly fresh. Cedar aromas jumped out of the bottle and smooth as smooth can be. Perhaps a bit short on the finish but all in all an impressive and very pleasant wine, more reminiscent of Bordeaux than many other Cal producers.

Had this wine for dinner and bought a substitute in case this one past its prime. No need for the substitute as this was one of the best wines I have ever indulged in. Pine and olive scents jumped out of the glass. Integration was perfect and coated the tongue like velvet. Aftertaste was fairly lengthy. I'm guessing still has a few years left but absolutely perfect right now!

No need to stick your nose way down in the glass - the fruity aromas immediately attack the senses. An absolutely wonderful Pinot which I have come to expect from winemaker Bob Cabral and his team!

Everything about this wine says perfect balance and integration. Nothing complex about the red fruit flavors but the structure and weight of this Hirsch is top shelf.

Unfortunately, the last of my 01s. Each bottle improved with age. Wonderfully integrated fruit & tobacco like flavors. Still going strong but, alas, all gone! My personal favorite from Rioja.

Was afraid this one might be past its prime and was, in fact, showing color maturity, BUT, was absolutely wonderful!! Not dominated by oak, merely the voluptuousness of tropical fruits. The high alcoholic content was not apparent. Williams Selyem is known for its Pinots but their Chards and Zins are highly underrated! Drink Now.

I generally love St. Urbans-Hof but this was pretty much one dimensional.

This wine is still drinking very well. Soft, integrated tannins. Either an underrated producer or nobody could miss in what I consider one of the best Italian vintages since 1997. A great value!

One of the best reds I have had from the Finger Lakes. Beautiful color, excellent volume, integrated tannins, plum and chocolate flavors. An excellent companion to my steak.

Second bottle of Gamay in a week and this was the loser. Weak, very acidic and a disappointment considering how lovely the Dubouef Chiroubles (Gamay) was! Not even worth the low cost!

Drinking this wine was like kissing my sister. Nothing offensive but nothing to get excited about. No flavors to describe. I was expecting so much more!

A fine example of the appellation and grape (gamay). Smooth and not grapey like some wines from the area. Went perfectly well with Thai red rice and beef.

More than I bargained for...smokey nose that I would expect from a more expensive wine. Earthy, but in a good way. Medium finish and would hold up to more than just a simple pizza. Nice effort!

What this wine was lacking in volume it compensated with clean, fresh flavors of red fruit and the acidity worked well with my wife's wonderful tomato sauce(not gravy!). A very pleasant accompaniment to your basic Italian meal.

Not being familiar with the winery and based upon the price I wasn't expecting much. Shame on me! The minute my wife and I poured our glasses we were impressed by the very deep purple color. Should have let it sit a while to let the nose open up but immediately upon taste I knew that this was one of the best Dolcettos I have ever tasted. Full bodied with layers of glycerine coated dark berry fruit. Definitely not the "pretty little Dolcetto" that I'm used to drinking with my simple Italian meals. Kudos to Boglietti. I will seek out more from this winemaker!
