Round and full with soft tannins. Cherries, vanilla, spice, herbs. A bit one dimensional now but should develop complexity with time.

Still young, dark & brooding. Denser & more layers of flavors than the 2008 which I tasted side by side, but has a lot of potential & reminds me of the 2009. Nose of black cherries, dates, cinnamon, candied ginger & anise. Dark flavors, layered with minerals & chalky notes. Classic Geyserville.

Nose of cherries, cassis, minerals, green & black pepper, finishing with oaky notes. Tight acidity on the palate, with caramel, earth, wet stone, & herbs. Lots of depth. 2011 is a true baby Monte Bello, more so than most of the prior vintages I have tried.

Opened a bottle at home to re taste after having this at Lytton Springs. Bright, forward fruit of black cherries with pepper spice, toasted oak notes. That brambly fruit I always associate with Paso Robles & Dusi Ranch bottlings is beautifully featured. Balanced wine, good structure, plums, & some meatiness. Maybe the best Paso Robles bottling from Ridge in recent memory. I stick with my original scoring of 93

Opened as part of a Buchignani vertical tasting. Much brighter acidity than the Zin from the same vineyard. Bright spiced raspberry pie fruit, a bit of baking spice on the nose, hints of herbal tea, & violets. Flavors of baked bread, herbs & tea. One of my favorite Ridge Carignan bottlings to date.

Opened as part of a Buchignani vertical tasting from the cellar. Color is still excellent but flavors tend toward, not surprisingly, a zin past it's prime. Nose of earth, tar, remnants of dried cherries. A bit oxidized. Flavors of dried herbs, tobacco and leather. Still has some solid structure.

Still drinking amazingly well. Dark & jammy, almost late harvest style reminiscent of the current bobcat bottlings. Cherry, currant, tea & cinnamon spice nose. Palate is very dark, jammy black fruit. Firm structure, tobacco, leather, & meat. A beautifully aged zin with nice secondary characteristics.

Unlike others I find this aging beautifully. Has been stored in my roving cellar since purchase & wine is at its prime. Deep dark color, thick mouthfeel & long finish. Nose of baked cherry pie, cloves, tea, earth. Structured palate with meat, leather & earth over that cherry pie. Well balanced, solid tannins, Classic York creek.
