5/7/24, 10:40 AM - where was the restaurant?
10/19/23, 6:42 PM - Haven’t actually had that one, so can’t say!
10/19/23, 6:42 PM - No detailed memory, but I seem to remember it not coming around for me a day later, then losing track of the bottle for awhile
10/4/23, 5:22 AM - Nice! I immediately went looking for more bottles of it, but nothing out there state side
6/2/21, 10:39 AM - Thanks...that's certainly in line with what I heard back from Emilien when I sent him the query (and thus why I marked flawed (as much in my approach and timing as the wine) as opposed to something else). I've tucked my remaining bottles away and will not revisit them for awhile to allow them to hopefully truly show their best.
8/15/23, 6:06 AM - I got rid of all my bottles I had (same as you, none were anywhere near sound). I may try a new vintage at some point, but at the moment, not a priority at all
5/18/23, 6:00 AM - I’m going to give my next bottle probably 2 years or so if I can
4/29/23, 11:16 AM - Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose! Happy this was a win
3/17/23, 8:53 AM - yeah, that seems to be the consensus for those who are susceptible to mousiness :(
4/17/23, 11:35 AM - I’ve only experienced it with the 19 (haven’t tried 20 yet), but seemed to be prevalent in both negociant bottlings…will welcome notes on LC20 to see if the problem was solved
12/20/22, 4:46 PM - Would expect nothing less!
10/19/22, 7:30 PM - The same for me. I’ve corked it and will check tomorrow…maybe an off bottle?
10/20/22, 2:09 PM - Update added
9/28/22, 12:48 AM - I think it will be pretty good in time and provides some value in modern Burg, but if I grab more I won’t touch them for 5+ years (or more likely 10)
7/23/22, 2:10 PM - Leave it if you can, I’d say 2 years or so
7/14/22, 11:52 AM - missing a lot of that meunier fruit style? Trying to decide if its worth picking some up
7/6/22, 11:49 AM - Thanks for taking the early plunge for us
7/3/22, 3:15 PM - I traded messages with them. The US import version is incorrectly labeled leading to this note.
6/28/22, 6:52 PM - I enjoyed it but think it will get better
5/1/22, 4:13 AM - Yea, thank you!
4/1/22, 7:38 PM - Sounds like from other notes it’s a hold and see approach. I have a few more that are being sent to offsite now
1/7/22, 1:11 PM - Certainly will, thanks!
11/26/21, 4:20 PM - That’s a tough question man. I dig it for what it represents and the connection I can actually taste to the red. I drink a lot of champagne, which this is certainly not, though I wasn’t expecting it to be. I would drink it again for the experience but wouldn’t grab it over one of the growers I drink consistently for a regular night.
11/26/21, 5:39 PM - If you only have 1, hold, otherwise drink up over a few hours and enjoy the evolution
11/26/21, 6:03 PM - I’d honestly give it a year or two then open it opposite the Farmhouse red, would be really fun
10/29/21, 5:41 PM - I think my last note was wrong, definitely hold this bottle.
10/9/21, 3:26 AM - Honestly this wine really tripped me up. I have one more bottle at the house I’m inclined to toss in a decanter for 8 hours and enjoy, but otherwise probably try again in 2 years.
8/13/21, 4:16 AM - Thanks @Buzz…no clue why this keeps happening
8/13/21, 12:47 PM - Yeah, but this is two weeks in a row Buzz has had to keep me honest...may need to switch to posting the notes morning after!
8/10/21, 11:09 AM - How are you feeling about its longevity?
8/8/21, 4:16 AM - Slip of a finger, thanks for catching!
5/28/21, 4:48 PM - It’s a truly wonderful champagne regardless of vintage
4/11/21, 5:43 AM - Yeah, I’m just having a hard time reading it. If the 15 has come around, I’ll tuck the other away and so the same when the 18’s come in.
4/12/21, 9:11 AM - Definitely let me know
2/16/21, 10:58 AM - Where/when did you try this? Barrel sample or the just bottled wine? Did your note align to theirs/wondering what negatives brought it to an 82?
1/13/21, 5:36 PM - Did you stand up beforehand (and if so how long)/decant off sediment?
1/13/21, 6:56 PM - Thanks!
1/13/21, 5:35 PM - Ready yet or hold longer? Believe the Carlisle version of this is more Zin than some other versions.
1/13/21, 5:34 PM - How long did you follow it over?
12/18/20, 5:14 PM - If you take it for what it is and compare it to American sparklers. It’s not champagne but doesn’t try to be. The BdB is phenomenal though for me each year.
11/26/20, 4:51 PM - I should have been clearer, I hope it’s a phase: the fruit is strangely showing as dropping off as opposed to muted, which leads me to aging, however, I could be (and hope I am) wrong. Full disclosure, this is a flight of the 4/5/6 wine with 4 people for Thanksgiving, so my tongue may be a bit fatigued.
11/11/20, 5:03 PM - Based on the one I opened tonight another 3-5 years...
10/21/20, 3:23 PM - Spot on
10/17/18, 5:36 AM - Where were you able to find this for $30?
10/19/18, 6:08 AM - Ah too bad, best price I can find it for is $40
7/9/18, 12:01 PM - From 750 or magnum?
3/22/18, 3:08 PM - Definitely sounds like a bad bottle!
2/23/18, 11:52 AM - Probably a mixture of bad lighting where it’s stored and the slight brownish-green tint to the glass, but it definitely caught me a little off guard (definitely not in a bad way)
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
