11/28/23, 12:26 PM - thanks for the note on this wine. nb: palate
8/10/23, 5:17 PM - Thanks for the tasting not. NB: palate.
1/22/22, 5:32 AM - Excellent note, thank you. NB: palate
1/17/22, 2:53 AM - great note, thank you. nb: palate
1/2/22, 5:54 AM - Great note, thanks! Also, FYI: palate
11/13/21, 5:23 PM - Thanks for the note. FYI: palate
5/31/20, 11:01 AM - Zinful: I hope your patience pays off - cheers!
11/2/21, 3:49 AM - I hear you. Different scoring systems are a challenge on this platform. I usually adhere to WS more than anything else. I was probably also feeling a bit generous that day. In general I rarely give lower than an 86-87.
10/1/21, 5:16 AM - Easily more.
9/6/21, 6:13 AM - Phinney.
5/31/21, 11:56 AM - @tward I like your formula!
5/3/21, 2:37 AM - Second night was *much* better - 93 pts. This wine needs tons of air and time in the bottle.
4/26/21, 7:43 PM - Not a palindrome or not from the makers of Sapporo? If not, I got false info. Thanks.
3/7/21, 12:11 PM - Good note. nb: palate
2/20/21, 5:23 AM - Excellent note. *palate (btw)
1/24/21, 4:22 AM - Yes, it was given some time - I think 45 min or so. It was served with 2 different pizzas: one with duck, the other with moose sausage. Not kidding.
11/8/20, 6:59 AM - Thanks for the note. FYI, palate.
11/1/20, 1:21 PM - It certainly can!
10/25/20, 7:35 AM - Even if you don't love the style, 75 points is a little ridiculous. Are you really that angry with the wine or more angry at yourself for having spent a lot of money on a varietal you don't connect with? My issue is not that you didn't enjoy the varietal, but you've given it a punitive score that skews the overall rating. There is no way on any level this wine deserves a 75. If it is corked, don't rate it. I don't love pinot noir and have felt many times that I've spent plenty on a pinot that I just hated. But I still try to recognize the wine in terms of craftmanship and what it is trying to represent.
10/25/20, 7:26 AM - THANK YOU for not putting a rank on this wine. Way too many people drink a wine way too early, then punish the wine with a low score.
8/20/20, 12:47 PM - @srh I did - decanted it for a full hour before pouring. It evolved but only very slowly over the next 3-4 hours or so. It definitely needed the hour imo.
8/20/20, 1:02 PM - @srh My pleasure. And no hurry - my take is that this will age effortlessly for several years if not a decade. Enjoy!
8/19/20, 4:45 AM - @philonthehill See my very first couple of notes.
5/23/20, 5:22 AM - Fell off dramatically the second day.
5/1/20, 6:16 AM - Agree completely with your note. Just take the time to write as comprehensive a report as this. Thanks - and cheers!
4/26/20, 5:28 AM - @srh - your comment does bring up an important point re not drinking wines too soon that have been shipped a long distance.
3/8/20, 3:05 PM - Excellent note, thanks. (btw: palate)
3/7/20, 4:46 AM - Excellent note, thanks. BTW: palate.
3/3/20, 4:05 AM - Excellent! (btw: palate)
1/25/20, 4:00 AM - Palate.
11/28/19, 7:12 AM - *Palate
11/13/19, 7:06 PM - thanks for the review. Palate, btw.
11/10/19, 6:27 PM - Palate.
8/28/19, 4:12 AM - Thanks for the note. Agree there is plenty of competition at $30. (btw: palate)
12/26/18, 11:14 PM - I think this will age for a decade with no effort.
10/28/18, 5:38 AM - In the previous note you say it has a decade to go, but in this note you say time to drink!
10/24/18, 6:13 PM - Palate
10/4/18, 11:11 PM - Might I suggest marking it NR if you think the bottle was bad. Your low score skews the overall score for this wine - shouldn't a score of 84 generally mean vinegary undrinkable?
10/9/18, 5:40 PM - Thanks for the explanation - I had not seen thee rating system set up by Eric before, so that is helpful. It is different than, say, the RP or Vinous systems which are quite similar to each other.
8/7/18, 9:45 AM - Hmmm - I'm not seeing my pic of this label but it could have been the 2012. Thanks for bringing this to my attn.
8/7/18, 4:34 AM - Palate

5/28/18, 3:25 AM - Palate
4/29/18, 6:28 AM - Palate
3/22/18, 3:06 AM - so why not mark this as flawed rather than give it a low rating?
3/11/18, 5:20 AM - Palate
1/14/18, 6:39 AM - palate
12/30/17, 5:23 PM - Would suggest you not give the wine a score and label it as flawed. A low score like that is not helpful and isn't representative of a healthy bottle. I don't know of any wine that warrants a 64.
12/17/17, 7:17 AM - Then why not mark it as flawed rather than skew the overall score with a number?
12/12/17, 5:50 PM - I like the note, but the score is a real head-scratcher. 83 should be for a wine that is simply undrinkable.
10/24/17, 4:17 AM - palate
9/24/17, 5:11 PM - I find it astounding that a bottle of Guiraud Sauternes would have lost its fruit after 10 years? If anything, wouldn't doesn't this wine seem to young? Bottle variation?
9/22/17, 4:33 AM - Why not wait 10 years when this wine is mature?
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
