Dark ruby color, leather and damp earth on the nose. Palate is surprisingly young, not consistent with the nose, but excellent overall.

Outstanding. Black fruit, spices and smooth tannins. Fruit evolved a bit more red as it opened up. Drinking well now for sure but will look forward to trying again in a few years.

Nose is muted but taste profile is great. The nose comes across a much older than the rest of the tasting experience holds. Smooth tannins so in a good drinking window. Mocha on the back end of a long finish.

Mocha and dark fruit. A Bordeaux come to Alexander Valley! Very integrated oak, medium, smooth tannins and layered finish.

Nice mocha nose with a hint of smoked meat. Rim still pretty purple so can age longer, but no reason. Good now. Smooth tannins. Dark fruit with a medium long finish. A little wet stone at the end.

Very dry...makes sense if zero dosage. Essence of green apple mixes well with dough wet stone. Enjoyable for sure.

Excellent dry riesling. Green apples & lemon on the nose that carries through to the palate, plus a bit of pear and stone fruit.

This is just singing right now. Decanted for an hour. Ruby color, a little red fruit on nose. Mocha, cinnamon and medium oak on the finish. Really, really good. Not often you feel like you caught a bottle at its peak...but this may be the case here.

Pop and pour then drank over 2 hours. Ruby color, a bit muted nose. Dark cherry with medium acidity. A bit chalky on the finish, but that smoothed out over an hour or so. Good wine that paired well with a light pasta dish.

2 hour decant. Interesting blend dominated by syrah and cabernet sauvignon. Somewhat smoked meat palate, so the syrah definitely leads. Tannins have rounded out well. They are there but not too intrusive.

Big wine that drinks fine now, but better things to come. Decanted for two hours and drank over two. Plenty of fruit and grippy tannins. Dark fruit, mocha and leather dominate the palate on a multi-layered finish. Excellent wine that I will revisit in two to five years.

This just came in and we have 4 bottles, so why not drink one while the tasting with Mo is fresh in our mind. This wine has a very light golden, straw color. It has aromas of lemon grass on the second nose. Excellent minerality, with a bit of acidity on the palate. Nice multi-layered finish that lingers in the back middle of the tongue.

Pale gold color. Minerally nose with a hint of shortcake. Straight down the center on the pallate with a medium finish. Nice wine for a haphazard restaurant purchase.

Meh. May have waited to long on this one. A weird caramel apple finish. Not offensive, but not what I was hoping for.

Appears to be a merlot heavy blend, and you can definitely taste the delicate merlot character. A pleasant nose but a bit fruit forward for my taste.

Unbelievable complexity. So integrated yet nuanced. Dark fruits with tannins that softened over a two hour decant. Great wine and great timing! Drink now and you will be happy, but will last longer if you are patient.

Dark smoky fruit...2 hour decant. Earthy plum. Full bodied wine that nearly slapped me in the face at the start. Ample time left if you still have some.

Nice spicy nose (nutmeg?) with an intriguing sweetish, toffee’ish tinge that expresses itself as the wine sits in the glass. Red fruits and plums dominate a smooth mouthfeel.

PNP. Dense ruby color. A little funk on the nose that quickly blew off leaving a nose of blueberry pastry. Very smooth tannins but not a lot of depth. Good wine from one of my favorite producers.

Believe the drinking window on this one and wait until 2020 or after. Decanted for four hours and still a really big wine. This is supposed to be 50%+ syrah, and that profile definitely dominates. Strawberry or rasberry on the nose. A bit of peppery smoked meat in the middle with a long finish. Look forward to trying my other bottle in 2022 or after!

Two hour decant, might need six! Looks like a very young wine in the glass - no bricking at all. Some of the peppery profiles from last year have dissipated. Silky smooth but still a really big wine full of dark fruits. Lots of time left on this wine.

Cellar Tracker says drinking window ended in 2016, but still a very good pinot. Some earthy, mocha'ish flavors to start. Nose is a bit muted...maybe a hint of strawberries or rasberry. Color is turning darker than bottles had in prior years. Its time to drink this wine, but still plenty pleasurable.

Somewhat muted nose, but pleasant. Graphite and cigar box along with dark fruits. Decanted nearly three hours, and tannins really softened during that time. Blueberry and black berry lead on the palate, with good structure and long finish. Many years left for this wine.

This has improved since my last bottle a couple of years ago. Still some fruit characteristics on the nose, but other secondary aromas of oak, cigar box and maybe a hint of cocoa. Tannins are pretty tame, with some dark fruit and wet stone on the palate. Nice medium finish with some lingering flavors.

PnP. Improved as we drank it with a rich Italian dinner over an hour. Medium purple and appears to have some ageability left. Medium tannins with a good bit of red fruit left on the palate.

Excellent wine but really, really tight at first with almost overpowering tannins - I was worried I'd wasted a good bottle by opening it before its time. Lucklily, over the course of two hours the wine really opened up and exhibited many of the dark fruit characteristics several other reviews have mentioned. I'll save the remaining two bottles for sometime after 2020.
