Spectacular. Cellared perfectly since distributed.

Blew out a 1st growth Bordeaux profile that was initiated by a brief full fruit bomb California nice to meet you greeting.
This was weird in an overwhelming sexy way.
Complimented duck breast and wild rice casserole and arugula gargonzola salad..
Awesome 👌

7/24/23, 12:39 PM - To answer the question: the Opus One decant was 30 to 90 minutes. I personally preferred it at 45 minutes to an hour. that was the height of the fruit and 1st growth mix that was so sexy.

Dark purple color. Deep, concentrated aromas, but there’s so much life in here as well, with tart blackberries, plum sauce, complexities of eucalyptus, spiced black tea, black pepper, violets, dark chocolate, iron and pencil shavings. The palate shows gorgeous focus and concentration, with fine-grained tannic structure and racy acidity. Tart currants, black cherries, laced with smoky earth, dried roses and violets, clove, eucalyptus, mint, even some soy and mushroom hints. The mouthfeel and complexity are just lovely. Lots of aging potential here, or give it air and sip over two days and I can’t imagine someone not loving this.

Really interesting. Palate has woodsy notes, BRIGHT tart cherry that pops midway through....some rhubarb....and a strangely surprising but excellent hint of something tropical, like pineapple or mango! It's fun.

For the price point....
