Fruity but no structure. Didn’t seem flawed. Table agreed it was not a repeat.

Served with beef short ribs, scalloped potatoes and pan Jetta green beans. This was singing right from the go. A nose that filled the kitchen, and a soft velvety feel that the guests loved. Delicious.

10 years since my last visit of this wine. It was fine but nothing magical. Dominated by alcohol on opening. 2 hours of air helped resolve the alcohol and allow the wine to fill out. I’m not sure I would hold much longer but I could also see this wine surprising at a later stage as well.

Wonderful wine. Drinking very well right from the first pour. It did put on a little weight as it sat in the decanter. Silky tannins, great nose, long finish.
Cork disintegrated trying to open the bottle but the wine is wonderful. Purchased on release from winery and stored in climate controlled facilities.

Coravin’d and consumed over a month. Consistent results. Fine tannins balanced with solid fruit. No signs of slowing down.

Nice wine but was disjointed at stages of the evening. Consumed of a couple hours. Might settle out with some more time in the bottle. If u have more I’d hold for a year or two.

Big wine with lots of red fruit. Lacked a bit of backbone, but this is in a good place with 30 min of air. Enjoyed with grilled pork loin and roasted fall veggies.

This impressed. Wonderful nose as it was poured. At about the 30 minute mark the nose faded and alcohol started to show through. At the 60 minute mark the alcohol had resolved, the nose was back and the flavors combined with some nice tannins to present a round, light but lush balanced wine that drank wonderfully with a rich tomato sauce. Give this at least an hour of air if possible.

Needs time. Took 24+ hours to open up and let the alcohol blow off. Once it did, it was enjoyed.

Agree with some other reviews. This is big and rich. Lots of fruit and great nose. Alcohol was in check for this bottle. Lacked a brightness many other RM Pinots have. Not sure if this ages much further.

Outstanding bright Pinot. Abundant red fruits balanced with subtle notes of mineral. Delicious from pop to finish. Rhys has struggled over the years with bottle variation with me but when the stars align it is brilliant.

A nice wine, paired very well with a homegrown heritage pork chop. Sous vide and finished in cast iron with a mustard maple glaze. The acidity of the wine balanced the sweetness of the glaze but alowed the pork flavor to still shine.

This is even better than a year ago. Right from the cork pop this was wonderfully layered with bright fruit and acidity. An hour of air has added body to the wine and deepened the layers. Going to be hard to keep hands off my other bottles.

Found in the cellar, purchased 6 years ago. Drank wonderfully. Still bright and balanced. Showed a bit of concentration of the yeasty notes I associate with vintage dom.

Well balanced bright fruit. Drinking very well as a PnP. Saved a glass and it was just as good if not better the next evening. Paired wonderfully with sous vide duck breast with cherry sauce, wild mushroom risotto and roasted Brussels.

Wonderful red fruits both on the nose and palate. Enough balance to not overpower a simple seared salmon dish. It was well liked by all. Bearwallow has historically not been my favorite vineyard from other producers but RM has done a magnificent job with this wine. I’ll be looking for more in the future. Drinking very well right now, even as a pnp.

A linear balance of fruit, earth, and floral. Well balanced with all notes combined but distinguishable. No heat. Decanted with about 30 minutes of air seemed to do the trick.

This needs at least an hour of air. The nose is fantastic on opening but the wine was thin and didn’t balance well… fast forward to an hour and the balance was near perfection. Tannins and acidity were balanced with wonderful layers of fruit and secondary notes all shining in their own dimensions. Last glass was the best so even more airtime would undoubtedly help.

Solheim Cup 2021 Weekend - Inverness Golf Club - Toledo, OH; 9/3/2021-9/6/2021 (Toledo, OH): Love Maybach and have had all the vintages. This is a great wine but the sweetness didn't jibe with the 2012 Schrader CCS or the short ribs it was served with. Saved a little bit and this had become more balanced on day 2. A great wine, but would drink on its own next time and not pair with anything.

Solheim Cup 2021 Weekend - Inverness Golf Club - Toledo, OH; 9/3/2021-9/6/2021 (Toledo, OH): A phenomenal wine that hits on every cylinder. Right from the pop of the cork the aroma permeated the kitchen. Perfectly balanced with impeccable finish. Lots of fruit packed into this bottle, but subtle cab notes glimpse through at just the right moments. Paired with grilled Rib Caps and rosemary potatoes.

Solheim Cup 2021 Weekend - Inverness Golf Club - Toledo, OH; 9/3/2021-9/6/2021 (Toledo, OH): Outstanding pinot. Bigger than I remember it being yet wonderfully in balance. Even with boldness it did not overpower the chicken corn chowder it was paired with. It worked nicely with the sweetness of the fresh corn, saltiness of the bacon and the homemade sourdough croutons.
